October 2013: I was contacted by a process server for Wakefield and Associates regarding a medical debt. While I did have health insurance at the time of service (2007), the claim was never submitted to my insurance agency.Not knowing that this claim was past the statute of limitations for collections, I gave Wakefield permission to submit it to my insurance again.

November 2013: I received a continuance until January 9th. November 29: Aetna sent notice that the claim was denied due to the statute of limitations.

Jan 8 2014: Spoke with Makayla from Wakefield and Associates. Was told that I would still have to appear in court tomorrow because the company has not filed an amendment; and would I like to set up a payment plan? REALLY?

I can not report them to the BBB- because the matter was involved in litigation. I may not be able to take counter action because I allowed them to resubmit the claim to my insurance, but I am going to try.

While I waited for my turn at the first hearing, I watched the used car salesman of a lawyer try to coerce people into payment plans that day. I will be looking into what I can do to get them put out of business.
