On December 11, 2004 I purchased a Homedics, Back Comfort model# BK-250 5 motor back massager, from the Wal Mart in Michigan City, IN. It was a grab bag gift for family. My brother picked it and then decided that he didn't want it.

He called and asked me to send him the receipt and he would return it to Wal Mart near him. He went to 3 Wal Marts and they all told him that they didn't sell the item and it should be returned to the store it was purchased at. He sent me the item and the receipt by UPS.

I February 10, 2005 I took the item with the receipt back to the Wal Mart in Michigan City, IN, where I had originally purchased it from. The person at the return counter scanned the item and told me that they did not have that item in their computer and that it was not purchased there.

I pointed to the item on the receipt and she told me that the code was different. I told her that that was the receipt I was given when I purchased it. She then called for a manager and he told me the same thing. I assured him that the item was purchased at that store and that I was given the receipt I gave him.

I proceeded to tell the manager exactly where in the store I found it at when I purchased it. He made a phone call and talked to someone for a few minutes and then hung up and told me that there is nothing that he can due.

I returned the item well with in the 90 day return policy of the store and the receipt lists the item as a seat massage as the picture on the box shows. I have a hard time understanding why this has happened. Unless this is how Wal Mart gets rid of over stock or something and just expects their customers to take it.

If the UPC doesn't match the numbers on the receipt than it's not the item. And any and every item Wal Mart sales stays in the computer system for at least two years, so retrace your steps and return to the right store.
