Recently my husband had the oil changed at Walmart on our Nissan. After a few days past I noticed that when I accelerate from a stop light or stop sign something under the car was moving. I also noticed this when I stopped.

After a week of this we took the car back to Walmart and they refused to fix the problem. We talked to managers and also called to speak with the store manager, which by the way was impossible. After the run around, we needed to know what was wrong. We have 2 children and didn't know if the problem was dangerous so we took the car to Firestone and was told that the oil pan was not correctly replaced and our car was running hot since it was losing oil.

I notified Walmart and was told that they were not liable since another company worked on the car. WHAT! After telling the story of how they wouldn't fix the problem so I had no choice but to take the car somewhere else, I was told to have a nice day.

Running Hot and losing oil.

Given enough time, she would've overheated. "oil pan not correctly replaced..." why would an oil pan need to be removed for an oil change? Noises: Any car running low on oil, which, if it were losing oil, would eventually make a whole lot of noises. I'd still like to know what make of Nissan that car is.

She never stated that overheating or oil loss was a problem only that she heard a noise. Some how when it gets to Firestone do they state she was losing oil and overheating. If this was a problem the OP was negligent for riding around for days like this.

Dust shields don't cause overheating or loss of oil

I really don't think the OP has a clue what he/she is talking about. But, if the new trick to doing oil changes IS pulling the oil pan off, I'm all for it. That $25 oil change just turned into a $150 one on most FWD cars, and at least $500 on most RWD cars. Good times are on the way.

I've never heard of a vehicle that required removing the oil pan for an oil change. What yr and model Nissan do you have? Bare with me on this one. Did you or your husband run over any animals during that week after the oil change? I ask this because I know many people that lost oil pans that way.
