Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I started doing work as a contracted “picture taker” for Washburn Law/The Land Firm/Cherry National Field Service in May of 2015. When I first started, payments were made in timely manners for assignments that were turned in within the deadline (48 hours).  After a few months, payments were being delayed, to the point that I was not paid unless I contacted them multiple times to request payment.  This was surprising to me, because their submission system is all online, and it tracks each Vendors account.  After reviewing the complaints about this organization on the BBB website, this seems to be their Standard Operating Procedure.  They either delay payment or don’t pay until the Vendor complains enough.

The "guidelines" for payment s (which I got directly from an employee of Washburn Law/The Land Firm) were clear when contractors should be paid for turning in completed assignments. (NOT SURE IF THESE ARE CURRENT, BUT I WROTE THEM DOWN WHEN I FIRST STARTED IN MAY of 2015)!

For assignments submitted between the 1st and the 15th of the month = Payment on the 25th of the month!  For assignments submitted between the 16th and the 31st of the month = Payment on the 10th of the next month!

Now, I have been attempting to contact Washburn Law for the past two months, to request payment for completed orders that were turned in on time in December of 2015 and January of 2016.  My last point of contact was Mr. Lee Zuber.  I assume he must no longer be with the organization, because he has not responded once to my many emails or voicemails (no less than 30 voicemails left)!  I have received no response to emails sent directly to their accounting department, and now my calls directly to Washburn Law go to voicemail with no response.

At this point, I just want to be paid for the work that I was CONTRACTED for.  The assignments were submitted within their deadline and in good faith.  It would also be expected for this organization to treat its Vendors with respect in regards to their contract, and pay Vendors in a timely manner.  This is also the same complaint that I tried to publish with the Better Business Bureau of Western North Carolina.  They said they could not publish the complaint, because it is not in their "purview".  Even though all the complaints against Washburn Law are basically for the same thing my complaint is for - Non-payment or Delayed payment to Vendors. The BBB refered my complaint to the NC State Bar Association, which is laughable because the Bar association does NOT deal with these types of issues.  This to me borders on FRAUD!

That may be true NOW, but in 2016 when the complaint was filed, they DID. I'm Sure it might not be "Washburn Law" that ripped me off, but it was still through this organization or one of its many names: Washburn & Ray PLLC, or The Land Firm or Cherry National Field Services or whatever other names your organization hides behind.

I have most correspondences saved on my computer for the ENTIRE time I was contracted to take photos in Maryland. So, this statement:  "Washburn Law has never worked in Maryland, and never taken pictures", is a complete fabrication! They are lying! PERIOD. I have proof!

The simple fact is, I did work for "some" part of this organization! I was NOT Paid! I am still owed $220.

The complaint is that Washburn Law does not pay employees or picture takers.  Washburn Law does not work in Maryland and does not take pictures.  I am sure the individual has a valid complaint, but Washburn Law has never worked in MD and never taken pictures.

Hey, I know it's been a while, but an employee of Washburn Law is currently contacting people who are owed money by Washburn Law and trying to make things right.  His name is Matt Campbell, and his email is [email protected].  I don't know if he'll come through for you, but it may be worth contacting him and letting him know who you are, what you're owed money for, and how much.  Good luck!
