Legend of Mir (http://www.legendofmir.net) is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online game) created by a Korean company named WEMADE Entertainment.

Their beta service started in the summer of 2001 and during that time they promised that when they would become a pay-to-play service that there would be better customer support, alot of updates, one big update in december 2001 and the lag would go away.

Whenever the pay-to-play service did start, all of the customer support pretty much disappeared, there are very few updates, the december 2001 update never happened and the lag is still there.

Accounts are constantly hacked, GameMasters are nothing but regular players that like to help their friends cheat, whenever there is a scheduled update it's never released until like another 3 months later.

I think they rarely update it so that they can just waste people's money on hopes that it will actually be updated. The "big December update" is now supposed to happen sometime this year but it will be beta.

Therefore, people pay-to-play a game thats never updated, and is still actually in beta and if you paid for a year of it thinking that it was actually a promising game you cant even get a refund.

The only reason they still get new customers is because they arent aware of how crappy the game actually is.

I was once a player on this game, i quit after about a year and a half of play, i too thought that it was wemade entertainment that was at fault for the constantly delayed updates etc.. That was until i saw a press release by Wemade, it explained everything. Wemade may be the developers behind this game, but in europe they have very little control, as they have basically sold the rights to use the game(in exchange for a % of the royalties etc..) to a company called Digital Brothers(part of Game Network) What wemade say is that they have never received a penny since giving Digital Bros the game and character servers. Even then wemade still provided some support as they care about their image over here. Digiatl bros constantly refuse to pay them anything, the december update was delayed so long because of all this, and wemade only gave digital bros the update on condition that they started paying the owed royalties. Once again though, the moment digital bros had the update they refused to pay. Another thing Digital Bros did to make things difficult was that they were constantly modifying the game client without informing Wemade of the changes, this meant that any updates sent to europe were incompatible and required a massive amount of work just to get them working, all this contibuted to the lag problems and instabilites. To this date 04/2003 Digital Bros have not paid, as are essentially running the game illegally, wemade have requested the character servers back as they want to set up a server for us people in the uk and to show just how good a company they are this sever will be free to use. This new sever cannot be made though until digital bros give back the character server (they are refusing to, they even had to cheek to try and make wemade pay a load of money for it!!) I hope this clears things up, i was just browsing the net and came accross this report here, and i dont like seeing companies being blamed for things that have nothing to do with them, wemade has been cheated and tricked by the people at Digtal Bros, kinda makes me feel ashamed to be european ;o) CrazyMike and TheEddster on Legend of Mir
