Western Union ripoff Money orders from fred meyer not payable on demand Everett Washington
If you purchase or accept a western union money order it will not be payable on demand.I accepted a western union money order for a car that I sold. When I tried to verify the availability of the funds. Their phone recording says they take 48 hours to update their system after the money order is purchased. This is a bold faced lie. You cannot cash the money order until they get good and ready to let you.
My money order was not updated to pay until a week later. If you are using one of these money orders for a purchase. You are opening yourself up to litigation. If the payment device is not payable on demand the merchant can charge you bad check fees.
