WESTSTAR CREDIT UNION, is just as bad as Bank Of America and all the rest of the banks! Do not put your money in this bank! I had an overdraft of $500.00, but I also had overdraft allowance of $500.00.  In other words, I was allowed to write out checks totaling $500.00 and would be protected if the fee was late getting to the bank.  Well, the fee was late getting to the bank, through NO FAULT of my own, but through my union. Now, through all the red tape, my check was finally here. Meanwhile, before my check actually came, NO ONE from WESTSTAR called me, NO ONE from WESTSTAR, emailed me and NO ONE from WESTSTAR, sent me a letter, stating that they would be taking fee's out because of my check being late. So, off I went to WESTSTAR to pay what I owed. As it turned out, I ended up paying WESTSTAR $852.00!  Well, what happened next was a slap in my face as well as paying WESTSTAR $852.00. The banker told me after I paid the $852.00, that they CLOSED my account and they they Will NOT reinstate me!!!  Do NOT put your money in these GREEDY BANKS! I would rather put my money under a mattress than deal with a GREEDY BANK!!! SCREW YOU, WESTSTAR!!! I will contact the BANKING COMMISSION ON THIS!!!

You've finally learned that if you can't manage your finances, you will not be welcome at banks OR credit unions.   So often, compulsive overdrafters complain here about the big banks and the fees they charge.   Their solution is to move their money to a credit union, where they eventually find out that bad money management is not tolerated there either.

The real solution is to keep an accurate check register and avoid overdrafting altogether.  That's really the bottom line.   If you do that, you can bank anywhere with no problems.  If you can't do that, you'll have the same problems wherever you put your money (unless you choose to keep it under your matress).
