I bought a ring on ebay from a seller named ladiggs1. It was supposed to be SI1 clarity and 1.50 carats. What I got after 3 weeks was a little under a carat.  WhenIi contacted the ebay seller, he said he sells for a company called Wholesale Diamonds Incorporated (WDI) anbd to contact Sam Martinez or Tom Holthaus. I did and was told to return it and that they would exchange it for the correct one as they made a mistake.  I did that and after not hearing from them for a few days after it was returned I called them.  They gave me run around and told me it would be shipped in a few days. It never was. They stopped answering my phone calls or emails and just kept my money.

I contacted the Ebay seller and was told that Sam and WDI are running a scam where they get other sellers to sell their diamonds for them by offering a percentage of the sale.  The ebay seller transacts the sale, sends WDI the money, and WDI is supposed to send out the diamond.  WDI sends out diamonds that are much smaller and of much worse quality and then leave the ebay seller on the hook for the refund since WDI has the money and the ebay seller is the one liable.  They use a seller until their feedback is too bad to sell anymore, then they quit shipping out anything at all and take the money until the seller realizes what is happening, then WDI moves on to a new seller.  They have already done this to two sellers (hobby_palace and ladiggs1) and now have livingthreads and cokebotle selling for them.

you can spot a WDI diamond because it is "certified" by NSADG (north and south american diamond grading) and has an outrageous appraisal value.  After I got my ring I looked into NSADG and doesn't exist.  They dot have offices in the cities listed on the certificate and no one answers the phone number either.  These certificates are just laminated pieces of paper that have been made on someone's computer. DO NOT BUY NSADG DIAMONDS ON EBAY
