I had a slight twist to my ankle and the swelling and pain wasn't going down.  I had been to the doctor, and they did x-rays and an MRI of the ankle to make sure it wasn't broken and it came back as a severe sprain.

I had just seen that the XSTANCE was offering this new sock.  It said, "put in the freezer for a few hours, then put on, and you can go about your day"

So I felt, if you can go on about your day, why not put it on before bed and take it off when I got up the next morning?  I do just that, for almost 3 weeks.

I'm sitting down one day, and notice that there is a slight rash on my foot, so I elected to stop using the sock at that point. (up to that point, I would put it on before I went to bed, take it off in the am, wipe clean and put back in the freezer for the next day/night)

I then notice that there is swelling of the foot, but nothing to be alaramed on.  I go to work the next day, and when I get hope, and take my work socks off, my foot starts to swell up to almost double the size, and then this deep red color set in.

(photo's to follow)

My foot got worse, and it was a holiday, so I had to see a doctor via online who helped me with some very strong medication and steroids.  I ended up missing almost a month of work, as it I had to spend 14 days in my bed with my foot above my heart to keep the blood from going to the foot, while being on more strong medication and missing work.

I notified the company, and they start to give me a run-a-round, asking questions that were answered with my detailed email.

They have a review part on the website, so I went and posted a acurate review, warning others that if you leave the sock on long time that what happened to me could happen to you, and that the company wasn't at all helpful in resolving my conflict.

The next day, somehow, even though the company that runs the review website is "independent" the "company" has the right to take down any review they don't like.  I contacted them about it, and of course they didn't even have a record of my review.  Thankfully, when you do a review, you get a copy of your review to approve or edit it.  I provided that to the company and that's when they told me that I would need to contact them about it as they were the ones that took it down!  They claim 5 star reviews, and that's pretty much all you see on the website, but when they are pulling down anything but a 5 star review you'll only be left with what's good for you/company!!!!!

This company then started to give me the run-a-round and wouldn't help me any longer.

I go back to the support ticket from Exstance and ask about why the review was taken down WITH photos, and why they were changing the wording on the website over the course of the week.   No answer is given to me.

First they posted, put in freezer, then put on and go about the day, then it changes to another description, and again and then finally to what you see of the website today, which is to wear 15 minutes at a time, and only as directed by a health care professional.  HOWEVER, that is not what was included with the product, or what is listed ON THE PRODUCT'S BOX, proving they are hiding things, especially with the wording on the website AND on the "newly designed" product box.  They even changed the scan box that comes on the box.

Everything that they did, is to try to avoid answering my questions, and to help me with my loss of work, mounting medical bills and what 2 doctors are saying will be PEREMINANT nerve damage and color discoloration to my foot!

This company is avoiding a court service as there has been a lawsuit filed, they are trying to avoid everything, refusing to answer questions as to why they did what they did, and if they are willing to help with what I lost out on.  We are talking about THOUSANDS of dollars, and this isn't going away!

Buyer beware of this product, you could be left with nerve damage, discoloration of foot, huge medical bills and being on medication, all while they change things on the website, packaging, and not answer questions via email.

This company is a joke when it comes to customer service!

Once again, it's on the company to have correct directions on how to use a item, and not change the website 3-4 times while you are being made aware of a issue.  The sock was also used for 2-3 weeks with no problem, then all of a sudden this is what happened, why?  It was fine and then caused nerve damage?

Glad you won't be on the jury but in order to get to where this has gotten, it's been proved that the company is in the wrong.  Remember, sometimes it's not what you do it's what you do after that can get you in trouble. (the coverup)

First, just because the box says you can put it on and wear it all day doesn't mean you SHOULD do that. Second, I seriously doubt they ever suggested or recommended that you wear it while sleeping. If your foot gets frostbite while you are awake you can usually tell. If you are sleeping, you can't. This is what's wrong with our legal system. Some moron decides to do something stupid without reading the directions or even using their brain, gets hurt, and then sues everyone trying to get a payday for their own stupidity. I doubt this company is much more than just a shell, so you probably won't get anything from them. But if I was on the jury, you would lose. It seems pretty obvious that putting frozen objects on your leg can cause damage if done in excess. This situation is entirely your fault and has nothing to do with the company.
