Thumbplay Random or malicious text messaging Unknown unknown
Today I received a text message from shortcode number 48000, as listed on other reports here. The message thanked me for signing up, and gave me my password to log in to thumbplay.com. How nice of them! A convenient service, really.
One problem: never heard of 'em, never visited ...

I opened my Verizon bill and found two charges on two of my phones for $9.99. After calling Verizon, I found one was thumbplay.com. They provided a phone number, I called thumbplay and they cheerfully cancelled this mistake subscription and will send a check for $9.99 as a refund....
