Original web search was Free download of a report.
After "download" was ready, a "nominal" $1.00 processing fee was required to release it. After processing by the credit card, it was allegedly available, but it actually was not.
I checked with my credict card and fouond an $18.95 charge pending.
I called the company, they gave me a choice of getting the report or refunding my money. I took the later option. The refund came through immediately on my credit card company's records.
No harm done, except a complete waste of time. Customer Service appologized for the "misunderstanding". (No, $18.95 was not mentioned, What was mentioned was Free and then $1.00, and no product was immediately made available. If I hadn't checked with my credit card company I'd have been none the wiser.
I believe Customer Service was trying to say the $1.00 was a credit to be applied to the regular $19.95 price, which wasn't mentioned.
NOTES: I was drawn to the site as www.carhistory.online; but the charge to my credit card was in the name of usvindata.com.
Yes, I got my money back, but the bait of a full report for Free/$1.00 was fraudulent IMO.
