6/30/21- Work was promised and a check taken for 50% of the job. There were two parts to this job and one required approval from the historic commission I later found out, despite Mr. Blanks saying it wasn't a problem. Part of the work needed to be canceled as it required 1-2 months to seek approval on. I explained via voicemail and text that a new check woudl be issued for the work that COULD be done at this time. Mr. Blanks never returned my call.
Charles Blanks cashed the check 7/6 despite my voicemail and texts stating NOT to cash and I would issue a new check. Mr Blanks also left my property without leaving a copy of the contract. He apologized via voicemail for not leaving the contract and would give me a copy, to date I have not recieved it. It has been six weeks and despite Mr. Blanks stating he would begin work the first week of July, no work has been done to date. I have made several attempts to reach Mr. Blanks and old get his voicemail. Mr. Blanks only contacted me after I left voicemail (8/8/21) that if I didn't hear from him in 24 hours to return my money I would be filing a formal complaint with the Attorney Generals Office against his company.
Mr. Blanks called the following day asking if we could work something out and that he would be in touch on 8/13 to see if we could come to an agreement (to think about it) despite me asking for my monies back. No call came on 8/13 and on 8/14, 8/15, and 8/16 I attempted to reach Mr. Blanks by phone leaving voicemail and texting with no success.
I left voicemail (8/14) that I want full return of my monies immediately. I have filed formal complaints with the BBB, FTC, Attorney Generals Office, and here on this site. I have contacted two attorneys and will be looking into further sites to file complaints against this company's practices. I feel Mr. Blanks saw opportunity in taking advantage of a single female who is a senior citizen and took full advantage of that opportunity. His remarks on my physical appearance and asking for a hug when he was leaving were inapproapriate to say the least.
