Complaint Review: Lela Yvonne Garner - San Pablo California

So I get this call from a guy I had met a few years earlier, now kinda a buddy, we kept in touch after initially working the same remodel jobs as laborers.  

He knew I was struggling to find full time work in Oregon, and he had just started working for this lady contractor who paid every week, in cash, money gram, PayPal, or Venmo (but no checks?) and she was looking for some more skilled workers, maybe even someone with enough experience to be a foreman.  

I got her number.  Her name was Lee.  I thought it was a guy named lee at first.  But anyway. She corrected me on the phone.  It was lea.  And she told me her bullsh*t life story;  grew up in the bay.  Went to college.  Worked as a line man for pg&e and Bc of the dot com boom, right place right time she said, she became a manager.  

I told her what I needed to make a week to drive the 550 miles south, and get an air bnb and work for her.  She agreed, on an hourly basis, and I was there the next Monday.  

I worked that week at this house in Richmond Ca right next to some catholic schools baseball field and Richmond high schools track and foot ball field.  If it wasn’t in Richmond calif, it was a sweet a*s lot and a cool cut de sac and a kinda cool house.  I’m got paid that Friday and decided to get more of my tools from my place in Oregon... I was back the next week and she paid via Venmo that week too... 

Anyway. We talked a lot about her past. The whole pg&e lineman to management bit.  She was a licensed electrician... then she claims she became a general contractor.   She went on to fabricate that she and her current business partner has been in business for 20 years.  That he was the finance and she was the team builder: the labor boss, the glue.  The day to day oversight in the jobs.  

She has no contractors license with the CDLB in California and never has. 

She has been locked up or under federal supervision for most of the past decade, so she hasn’t been flipping 20 homes a year like she claims. 

This next part is important Bc it’s how I connected the name she used with the name that is really her name, and therefore how I became aware that she is a dangerous felon who has done time for defrauding ppl and she just recently got off of a federal parole.  She told me she grew up in Danville, and affluent suburb east of Oakland and she said her mom was a lawyer in the entertainment industry, and she said her father was a board member at the metropolitan transportation commission.  

So she is going by Lea Garner now.  But if u check the ripoff report for a Lela Yvonne Garner, and u read the reports, u will see that this lady gave the same identical background story to another one of her victims way back in 2008-2010, when she was selling iPods online, and then they were “getting lost in the mail”  

the stories are too identical to be a coincidence. The name is too similar to boot, but what ties it all up in my book is, when I check the email addy she uses; [email protected]: it’s the same prefix name she has used over and over again with different providers, as reported by other victims on this website. 

The federal court case websites say she was released from her federal parole in March of 2019.  I know from a coworker at this job that she was defrauding him by July of the same year.  4 months off of parole and she is scamming again.  

Dont get fooled by her infinity suv.  Or her Aston marton. Or her cornrows!  Ok those are not fooling anyone, but this is one pro scamming girl.  

ok so here is how she scammed me.  You already know I worked 2 weeks with pay and then she approaches me about contract work.  

I’m not a contractor.  I’m an hourly employee.  But I need the job, I said, I’m not ok with this, but she railroaded me.  And then she paid me on the first 500 job i completed.  It took a week though which sucked.  I needed to make 1000 a week I had told her.  

Then came the next job, the plumbing.  I get it all roughed in for inspection: we pass inspection.  And 10 days later she pays me for the rough plumbing.  And that was the first payday in oct.  

i worked until nov 14, everyday for 10 hours a day.  At least 6 days a week, and she never paid me another dime.  I called her emailed her and texted her and just like the other victims, she always had a feasible but bulksh*t excuse. 

Then just this last week I threatened to go to the labor board.  She and the owner of the home, her business partner Michael Lucas of Oakland and of the bullsh*t mortgage firm Equity resources Network llc, told me there were tons of defects in my work and I actually owed them money.  That was January 15 2020.  I walked off the job November 14 2019.  Anyone who know construction knows that if there was defective work, I would have heard it the day I was done.  And the house passed a final inspection on nov 21 2019:

All lies fabricated to not pay me the $2500 they owe me. they are wealthy pieces of sh*t and they drive fake luxury cars and think they are the gay and l*****n Marc Anthony and Cleopatra of the east bay.  They kick people who are down.  They steal from the very workers who made them their wealth.  

And they need to be stopped! 

Please contact me if you think you may have run afoul of her.  I’m filing a labor board disburse and suing them in contra costa county courts.  I am hoping law enforcement will take an interest in the case too.
