Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

So I’m just a guy in his 20’s who lives alone so I wanted to buy myself a cat. I’m doin alright , I can afford it right ? No. Don’t ever try buy animals online. I was so convinced this was real. Spent most of my check on this because I wanted a Siamese Cat so bad. I looked up online and it was the 4th website down. Siamese Cattery Company. Seems legit right . Click. Next thing I know I’m emailing this person. They tell me there’s a 500 rehoming fee that comes from two things. All the shots and the original rehoming fee. I say I want her this weekend. So anxious.. they say alright bet. That will be 250 for an express flight this weekend. Still nothing came to me that this might not be legit .. I sent it .

This was 3 days ago. The cat was supposed to be delivered at 5:30pm today at my house and I get a text from a "Clovis” at "Net Freight Express Logistics Ltd” saying the crate the cat was shipped in was too small and said health experts said its life would be at stake if shipped. We need another 150 for a bigger crate. I can’t afford anymore i tell them. I still need to pay for my car.. They started getting agitated when I told them no . I can’t afford anymore. It’s like they had a quota to meet. I’m not even sure if there even was a d**n cat. Long short I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else.. im heartbroken over this.

That website shows it's not a legitimate company

I am a regular consumer and don't mean to pile on but that website shows that it isn't any sort of legitimate company at all. Just at a glance the website states the kitties come from Piedmont OK but the mapping and phone come from San Francisco. That's a red flag. The testimonials are clearly written by the same person so they are bogus. Another red flag. Then if you read further in the website their English is not very coherent - more like cut and paste from other resources or other websites. A third red flag in less than two minutes.  This is even before checking into the website itself by looking up the domain name and IP address on Whois so you know what's going on before you ever contact them.

I'm not saying this to give you a hard time because you eventually came to the right conclusion:  Don't buy animals online. I am saying to look at websites with more suspicion and check them out before you ever send money to them. So many scammers have no idea that they show their true colors in the way they promote themselves online. At least you learned this lesson early (since you are in your 20's) and can use this experience throughout your lifetime for other purchases. It was an expensive lesson.
