Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

PureTalk Wireless has an issue that has persisted for over two years with me. Out of the blue, Puretalk put me in collections for an iPhone which I brought TO them FROM Verizon Wireless and locked the IMEI as stolen; I disputed this matter directly with PureTalk and with their collections firm, Carter-Young, Inc., and provided evidence showing that PureTalk's claim was incorrect. Despite these efforts, neither PureTalk nor Carter-Young responded to the dispute and now, more than 2 years later, they began harassing me again, placing them in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). To clarify the situation: I did not purchase a phone from PureTalk. I brought my iPhone with me from Verizon Wireless when I switched to PureTalk. A few months later, I changed carriers, and PureTalk began sending threatening messages, erroneously claiming that I owed them for a phone I had already brought with me. I disputed this charge with both PureTalk and Carter-Young, submitting proof that the phone was not purchased from PureTalk. Despite this, PureTalk proceeded to lock my phone and falsely reported it as stolen. For over two years, PureTalk has continued to report this erroneous information on my credit report and has sent me harassing correspondence. These actions are in clear violation of federal law. Given PureTalk’s unethical business practices, as highlighted by numerous negative reviews on the Better Business Bureau and other review sites, I demand that this issue be resolved promptly. I expect the erroneous information to be removed from my credit report and a formal apology within the next 30 days. I cannot believe a company who claims to uphold the values stated on the landing page of their website would stoop to such measures, and not correct their mistake.

Following the submission on multiple occasions of the receipt for the phone purchased from Verizon, the company continues to harangue and harass, and refuses to acknowledge the fault on their end.
