I am writing this in regards to 1and1 internet services with offices located in Chesterbrook, PA. I have filed a complaint using your internet website but am sending this letter along with additional documentation.

I originally registered my domain FX98.com via 1and1 because I have seen so many advertisements about them and thought to myself how great it would be to use a great company.

I originally registered my domain name on December 29, 2006. I paid using my credit card.

A short time after registering my domain name and also have 1and1 hosting my internet email I started to have many problems which I didnt like.

In October of this past year I changed an email address and the one associated with fx98.com was no longer valid. I was given a run around by 1and1 and was made to send all types of documentation to them to show them I was the actual domain owner.

December 29, 2007 I was on hold with 1and1 to change my billing account from PAYPAL to a credit card. After being on hold for more then 20 minutes I hung up the phone and sent the following email to them:

I am requesting someone call me; i am no longer going to wait On the phone with you guys anymore. I want to pay by CC NOT PAYPAL Since Paypal will be rejected. Either you guys call or discontinue my service please. i am not interested in being made to wait long periods anymore. i can easily go to another service provider.

January 2, 2008 I was informed by one of the customer services representatives (Lisa Kramer) that I was NOT Responsible for paying 1and1 internet anything else (Domain registration and/or Email services)

On or about January 4, 2008 I contacted 1and1 internet Technical Support and was informed that I indeed wasnt responsible for any monies owed to them

January 7, 2008

I received a bill from 1and1 saying they tried to bill me for the extra year of my domain. I waited 25 Minutes on the phone to get an associate; Brandon at that time told me I was responsible for the domain name fx98.com for an additional year of services when I didnt authorize them to renew it. A few months ago I noticed that 1and1 at first registered the domain somehow for 2 year period when I told them one. I was informed they are holding me responsible for the money I owe them. I then spoke to a supervisor who put up an argument with me and told him I was responsible for the domain, and that the other associate MADE A MISTAKE and I would be responsible for any fees associated with my domain fx98.com

I am totally upset and aggravated with 1and1. I thought they were one of the best companies ever but how can a SUPERVISOR David argue with me and tell me I was responsible for the charges regardless of the situation?

I am requesting that something be done about this company now. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) 1and1 internet has had 460 Complaints filed against them within the past 36 months. The BBB Processed 245 Complaints within the past 12 month period.

I believe that 1and1 is committing fraud and making people pay for services they are not responsible for.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
