A Hollywood Wedding Chapel ruined my special day Ripoff Las Vegas Nevada
I know this happened over a year ago but I just found this site and I want to forewarn others to this horror!
My husband and I were planning a wedding in Las Vegas for Aug 4, 2003. I wanted an all-inclusive wedding package-chapel, music, bouquet, boutonniere, video, 24 color photographs with the negatives, candlelight, limo, minister, bottle of champagne and all taxes. I found this through marrymeinlasvegas.com for $225.
I contacted Phyllis on May 18, 2003 and put the $55 deposit on my credit card. At this point, we were told we would be dealing with A Hollywood Wedding Chapel. I found a 15% discount coupon from Insider View of Las Vegas and contacted Phyllis to ask if I could also use this discount toward the package. She said yes.
We flew out to Vegas the night before the wedding and I called the local number at 1230am, leaving a message with our phone number and room number. I also called them again at 9am, 10am, 1030am and 1040am. Ihad a hair and makeup appointment from 11am-1pm. They never called back to confirm.
I finally called them again at 130pm to find out what was going on and was rudely informed that the driver was downstairs waiting on us. When we got downstairs the driver was rude and there was no limo. Instead we had a Foed Explorer. He informed us that since we had made him so late,(we were 10 minutes late ) we would have to find our own way back. We have no money with us because we were led to believe that it was a round trip ride.
When we got inside the chapel, Phyllis wanted $170- the balance of the package. I gave her the coupon and she said that they would NOT honor it. She wanted us to pay and I informed her that since she assured me that I could use the coupon we didn't have the money.
At this point I started to cry and was ready to walk out. She said that they woyuld go ahead and perform the ceremony but they wer not happy about it. They handed us some artificial flowers for our bouquet and boutonniere and proceeded to marry us.
After the 4 minute and 40 second ceremony the pictures were taken and then the bouquet was ripped out of my hands, my husband's boutonniere ripped off and we were shown the door.
We are standing in the 109 degree heat, he in a black suit and me in my wedding dress-no vehicle to get back to the hotel or cash for a cab or our free bottle of champagne. We started walking and a Good Samaratin gave us a ride to our hotel.
Word of Advice. Don't use A Hollywood Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas unless you want your "special day" to be ruined
