Abu Garcia Withdrew Inflatable Life Jacket Offer after enticing me to purchase their reels with it Columbia SC
Purchased a $300 Revo MGX reel in April - my first Abu Garcia Reel. There was promotion for free inflatable life jackets. I complied with the date of mailing of the rebate, paid the $10.99 in S&H and mailed it in anxiously waiting for the life jacket.
Today (7/22) I get a returned mail item postmarked within the mailing period saying that the event expired and the P.O. box was closed. I call Abu Garcia who won't talk to me about it, but instead sends me to their "rebate team."
They tell me tough luck, we ran out of the life jackets and you get nothing else. I would have never bought the reel in the first place had I not been enticed by the offer. I would have just stuck with my Shimano's. Rude. Rude. Rude. I wonder what the MN Attorney General would think about this type of revoked offer being used to entice purchases. Beware folks!
