Do not buy anything from Acedepot.com or its affiliates! We purchased an IBM Typewriter from this company because online it stated we could upgrade from refurbished to new for an additional $25.00. So we took the chance and ordered this product new. We made our purchase online on Oct. 22, 2014 and our credit card was charged the very next day.

The product arrived on November 3 but the box was in poor shape and it was rattling before we opened it. It did not appear to be new but looked decent. After unpacking the product and plugging it in, we soon found out that this was indeed not a new typewriter. The typewriter would not type passed two letters before it would automatically return to the start of the page. We immediately called the customer service department who deemed it defective.

The Customer Service Rep told us that she would give this information about the defective typewriter to her supervisor who would then issue us a return label via email. The next day we called again because we did not receive a label. The rep, Arlene, told us that they were now trying to get a hold of the manufacturer who would then issue us a call tag for UPS to pickup the product. She said the process would take 3-5 days. Over the next two days, UPS did come to our office but they said no call tag had been issued so they could not take the package. 

On Nov. 6, we called customer service again because no call tag or label had been issued for this product. She said she would call the manufacturer immediately and call us back to confirm details. She did call back only to confirm our email address but said she would call again and never did.

On Nov. 10, received a call from Technician Jim at 9 am. He told us that he would email a return label immediately to us for UPS to pick up the package and once received back they will issue us a full credit. We asked him why the product was not new since we paid extra for a new product. He laughed and asked who told us that. We stated the website and the customer service associate we talked to prior to purchasing. He informed us that all there products are refurbished and we would never receive a new typewriter. So now we knew we were lied to and they falsified information on their website.

On Nov. 11, called Jim back because no label had been sent. He said he put it into the scanner and forgot to send it. A few minutes later we did receive the label.

On Nov. 18, UPS picked up the package. We called customer service to inform them the product was coming back to them. On November 20, the UPS website confirmed it had been delivered back to Acedepot at 11:47 am, signed by ARONOFF. We called to confirm this delivery and they told us that the credit would take 7-10 days.

Called Nov. 26 because no credit was received yet and was told the supervisor would be calling us. Called again, December 1 because no credit has yet been received and was sent to voicemail of Chris Corday (ext. 2003) the owner. December 8th, called again because still no credit has been received. Arlene, customer service rep, transferred us to Chris who was beyond rude. He stated that we would have a credit within 24 hours. This was at 2:17 pm in the afternoon. He did not apologize or act like he cared about his customer at all.

Dec. 9th at 2:17 pm still no credit received. Called back and asked to speak to Chris directly. This time the man was a little nicer. He stated that it still has not hit yet and worst case scenario by the end of the day. We said we would wait for it and if not we would be calling back.

Dec. 10th, still no credit and now we only get sent directly to voicemail. After doing my own investigation on this company it has been made clear that we might not ever see our 324.00 credit for this tyepwriter for over 500 people have had this same situtation happen to them by this company. Don't be scammed by this company. Place your orders elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.
