Action replaced my bottom section of my garage door. My wife inspected their work, noting a split in the wood where a screw was used, and paid the workers.

I later inspected the work and discovered 3 bright silver warranty stickers in my garage. One was on the paneled wall next to the garage door opener, another was actually on the garage door opener unit itself, and another was on the garage door (part they did not repair).

I contacted Action at approx 6:15 PM EDT and informed the male who answered that there was an abundance of stickers on my house which no one authorized. I was told that that is what he "told his men to do". I told him I didn't like that and that there was even one on the garage door opener that they did not install nor service.

he said that if I didn't like them I could take them off. I informed him that I had tried already and they tended to rip as they were removed and that HE should be the one removing the stickers. I asked him if there were any more I had not found yet, maybe on my house or my car since they were not serviced by Action either.

I was then told that there would be one on my forehead so I could remember to call him for more "silly s**t" and that he would "shove one up my f***** a**". I told him to come by my house and he said "F*** you" and hung up on me.

This is not the kind of company that should be a member of the BBB.

I PAID them for service. Advertising via gaudy stickers mars my house and is an eyesore. I did not pay for that and did not appreciate that.

I called Action Garage Doors to come out and perform an estimate on my garage door, they guy came out and gave me a really high estimate for replacing all of the wheels in my door.  I sayed no thanks, but he said it would be $40 for the estimate, sprayed some lubricant on the wheels and then put a gawdy sticker that resembled the Harley Davidson Logo on my freshly painted wall by the opener, I asked him to remove it as soon as I saw it.  He did it while I went in the house to get money so he would leave.  I should have punched him in the nose for doing that, but since I'm a nice guy and trained to not use violence until absolutely necessary I let the neck get away.  I would never call this hillbilly company again.

"TJ" wrote: but stickers placed as a courtesy for future ease of doing business is not note worthy at all. common sense would tend to think that a person whose biggest complaint is : "I PAID them for service. Advertising via gaudy stickers mars my house and is an eyesore. I did not pay for that and did not appreciate that." That has nothing derogatory to say about the service provided just the placement of stickers...obviously has nothing better to do than to upset and bother hard working, law abiding Americans. Sad. TJ - JACKSONVILLE, Florida ======================== The service of the door was fine. The counter-boy who answered the phone and was nasty was offered the opportunity to settle our dispute. He declined. My complaint is with the hopefully now-unemployed counter-boy who was nasty and the little guy who put stickers ALL OVER my garage. He serviced a piece of the garage door and placed many stickers all over the garage. I was not "offered" a sticker nor was ONE placed in an inconspicuous area. Action's business practices are horrible. I have told at least 30 people about my expreience. Anytime I can I still share my experience with this awful company. Just seeing "TJ" reply that I "obviously [have] nothing better to do than to upset and bother hard working, law abiding Americans" makes me laugh. How sad it is when a person doen't realize that a simple apology to a rightfully upset customer would go a long way. Instead they insult the customer by saying that "there would be one [sticker] on my forehead so I could remember to call him for more "silly s**t" and that he would "shove one up my f***** a**". I told him to come by my house and he said "F*** you" and hung up on me." Any dispute that you (or whomever) didn't say exactly what I have written only proves my point about you and your company even more.

I checked all my available resorces to make sure that these people are not legit. And quess what? They're not. This Action Garage Door Company is in no affilation to the only real Action Garage Door as TJ is trying to make people think. By the way TJ, since you refuse to use your real name even though I have provide the public with that, it is not slander you moron it is liable, and to sue someone for liable, you must be able to prove such. I made one phone call that proves you in the wrong. You can lie to people all you want, the truth of the matter is pure and simple, you are an affilate of PDS. Not to mention, you, as all PDS business's have, have stollen the name of a legit company to try to rid them of their customers by providing this kind of piss-poor service and telling people that you are this company when you are not. What you and other PDS's have done is slandered another company by stealing their name. With the hopes of taking their hard earned business away from them causing a nationwide monopoly with your BS scams. I truely hope I am and have pissed you and PDS off. And give me a break, the only one of us that can be served with a lawsuit is you and PDS. Your deceptive practices will end this scam once and for all. I have notified the legit company of your doings as for many government and door agencies. I will not sit back why you and PDS make a fool out of these hard working people and taking what does not belong to you. Please, by all means continue to rebuttal your BS. The people know the truth, It's over.

First...as any new business we thought that the BBB was a good thing. Only to come to find out that anyone that is having a bad day can file an erroneous report without any facts to back that report up and if anything the BBB is nothing more than a red tape organization, hence the reason why we are listed and have not provided anymore info to them. They hurt a private, law abiding business and do not help them. Second...You claimed that Action Garage Doors was affiliated with another company, an opinion at best and have failed to provide or prove any affiliation with another company which is slander...I have gone on record as saying we are a new company...backed by private investors and have nothing to do with any other company and only know about them because of their horrible reputation in our community. I referenced the BBB file to provide you with the necessary numbers or anyone else reading this where they can call and find out the information for themselves and note: Those numbers provided do not appear or can be found under any other garage door company numbers anywhere in the USA except for Action Garage Door company. Third...it is smart marketing when you have a company operating in various cities to use the local cities area codes and first three digits, by doing this you allow for a local customer to call withut having to pay long distance while being able to route calls to a centralized dispatching location. This concept is what is sold by the BELL company Yellow Pages MAR reps. UNFORUTNEATLY, some people in the garage door business as well as others use this to their advantage to mislead the public by providing a different company name under various numbers for an area where all of the callers go to a centralized phone bank. As a result XYZ Garage Door company is actual ABC, EFG, & HIJ....as a result these folks are nothing more than a cash for profit business not really to concerned about future business from the customer they hook....as a result they give a black eye to other garage door and like businesses... Fourth...We at ACTION GARAGE DOORS are hiding nothing, and again are sorry that a customer chose a public forumn to air his dirty laundry and personal problems with an issue that is less than public knowledgable. Many many many companies today use provide/place stickers with all of the information about their business for future business on the items they are fixing..and in reality what legitimate business would not...after all an illigitimate business would not be going to the places they service poorly and then providing easy contact information to get ahold of them in the future....lets get real...we are a legitimate business and know about illegitemate businesses...and the only good thing about them is we are able to use their poor business practices to our advantage because we are confident in the product we provide.... Finally...April if you would like to get a hold of me please contact the administrators of this site and ask them to send you my email address they have my permission to do this for YOU APRIL ONLY..... I have a lot of pride in what I have accomplished in life and for a public board of this nature to be able to simply wack that away...is rather disturbing...but I am glad this board is here because in some cases folks do a better job of showing what they are all about better than I ever could. FACTLESS accusations is what continues to chip away at what made our country great...try to get the facts in the future before you start a smear campaign...

For starters, in one paragraph you go on to say the BBB is unreliable, etc. But in several lines before that, you actually say, the 2 names reported in the BBB are correct. Next, You say you don't need a contractors license, you don't build, you install. What??? To install and service garage doors and operators in Florida, you must have a certification and a "General" Contractors license. You have neither, either does your partner. Don't like the facts being pointed out. Sounds to me and many, that you like to put your foot in your mouth. So, what could you sue me for, telling the consumers the truth? Good Luck!!!!

Thought I made it very clear. WE are and have always been an individual company have no other affiliations with any other Garage Door Service in Jacksonville or any other city within the United States of America. Action Garage Door Company was only founded two years ago and we have no affiliation with any other Garage Door company.. Action Garage Door company is a owned and operated by both parties shown on the BBB report and the reason we have not given the BBB anymore info is that it is none of their business...and they expect to much for it...membership et al... Again ACTION GARAGE DOOR and has nothing to do with any other Garage Door company within the United States and handles a territory from Daytona Beach Florida up through Gainesville Florida through Jacksonville and up to the Georgia line... Not sure what a contracters license has to do with anything....we are not builders...we have installers..try giving us a call and maybe we can set you straight...what numbers are you talking about...we have nothing to do with the companies mentioned....check the occupational license of the company..... ...and using any BBB ties especially on this sight...that is a weak arguement as most anyone can tell you that your local Chamber of Commerce is a much better source of gaining new business than the BBB will ever be....and the BBB is actually a joke...why would we want to give them anymore info than necessary only to be used against us by malicious and factless assaults about issue that have nothing to do with service related issues...but personal opinion.... so what is your point April...try to look at the facts...we are not affiliate with Ronnie or Pete....if that is what you are getting at....we do not do business there way that is why we are barely breaking even this year...take your emotions out of the arguement April get some facts and you will see yourself and this sight are on the verge of a serious slander & liability lawsuit...

First and formost, is the TJ for Thomas J McBride or Thomas and Jeff (Jeff Veniard)? I actually looked you up to see if maybe PDS had pulled a name usuage on your company too. After looking into your company, I figured, you thought that by approaching this matter this way, then maybe I'll believe you. Well, like I said, I did a thorough check on you and your company, let me let the consumers know what I found: According to the BBB of Florida, they have made several attempts to contact you and/or your company to date, to get more information, and you have never responded. According to IDA and IDEA, you don't exist. According to the Florida general contactors license board, you do exist, but there is NO license by you or anyone for your company. You do however have a null and viod license for some other type of work and this Jeff Veniard only holds a license as a real esate broker. Now, according to all information obtained on PDS, they have the same address and phone number listed in various places, for 1) Precision Door Service and 2) Garage Door Service of Florida. So, what were you saying???

Action Garage Door is a respectable, law abiding and organized business only started less than two years ago and has no other affiliation with any other company in Florida or the USA for that matter at this time, that manufactures, sells, installs or works on garage doors i.e.: FLORIDA DOOR, Precision, Overhead and any others. It is a family run business that at times due to the nature of the business does not have time to cater to every individuals personal issues such as removable stickers placed in key areas as a courtesy so that in the future if service is needed the customer can contact the company quickly and efficiently. Striving to be the best Action has established itself as one of the leading Garage door services in the North Florida area and a personal conversation that had nothing to do with the service provided but stickers placed as a courtesy for future ease of doing business is not note worthy at all. In any new and lawful business within the first few years of start up growing pains result in things not done to customers liking and as a result changes are made, personel are removed and brought in....common sense would tend to think that a person whose biggest complaint is : "I PAID them for service. Advertising via gaudy stickers mars my house and is an eyesore. I did not pay for that and did not appreciate that." That has nothing derogatory to say about the service provided just the placement of stickers...obviously has nothing better to do than to upset and bother hard working, law abiding Americans. Sad. And again...ACTION GARAGE DOOR SERVICES has no affiliation with any other Garage Door Service companies either in Florida or the other states within American....it is an original and doing business legally...with no hitches...focused on servicing the customer in a timely and hassle free manner.

Action aka Precision, the BBB helps them stay in business

This company that you're refering to is also one of the many aliases of Precision. They're a member of the BBB because the BBB's exploit money from them for a membership so that they won't inform consumers of the way they really do business. Unfortunately, this company is a hugh scam. I garantee that if you call other door companies (that are in no way affliated w/ Precision and their aliases) you'll even find out that you were screwed by their price. Please, read my husbands report on Precision.

I'm sure the person you spoke to was probally the actual owner, you can't call back to get his name because everyone of these companies uses caller id. Rather the person you spoke to or anyone else thinks this is just a little petty problem, the company has actually broken laws. These companies specifically tell their employees to do such, hoping that next time you need something fixed, you'll see the sticker and call them thinking their the one's that did the work. By them putting stickers on property that they never installered nor repaired, they have frauduatly decieved the consumer, you. They knew what they were doing. The places you've mentioned you found these stickers, that's exactly where the employees are told to put them.

You may want to call another company to come look at the door and installation, specifically the springs. Most the time they will tamper with another part of your door and usually the springs. Then go ahead and file a complaint with your BBB, when they send you a letter saying oh well or they won't do anything, etc. you have a copy of the BBB's action. Then go to your Attorney General. Tell them what happened, what the BBB said or didn't do, and give them a copy of this report, my husbands report, and the other 3 reports on this company and their aliases. Tell them that they are part of the Precision Garage Door Scam and you would like them to investigate their business. They will!!!

Good luck.
