Actually, due to discrimination laws, they are required to keep records on all people who filled out paperwork, whether they were denied for cause or whether they changed thier mind about the loans.
There was a lawsuit made by a woman who had tried to scam advance america claiming she was denied for a loan because she was black, even though it was because she had ripped off other payday lenders. Since then, they have to maintain records.

I work for advance america in az, it is our company policy that if you apply for a loan we need to keep your documents, your information never gets shared and is put in a confidential filing cabinet. you have nothing to worry about. If your information was put in the computer we need to have documentation. We do not run your credit hence why we ask for so many things when you apply. On your application when you fill it out it says you authorize us to verify any information that you have given us.
