Advance Placement Sevices Beware of taking APS's advice forsyth, Georgia
I called about 7 other locating companies before I talked to Barry at APS. Barry handed out a laundry list of reasons not to use any of them. In fact he bashed a few!
Unfortunately I didn't follow the gold standard when buying - never buy from a company that bad mouths others. NEVER But I did. I sent in a deposit and contract for 75 machines to be located.
The head locator - his last name was Jet - called me. When one of his guys came to us - I don't remember their name - He threw a fit when we asked him to assemble the machines. He said you mean you don't have them assembled?! He was very arrogant but we paid him even more to assemble machines. I don't understand how they could be so nasty when I told them that I'm over 80 and have arthritist.
The locator also sold us machines - we paid him cash and he won't return our calls. He told me Vendstar was junk - Jet also told me that too. I haven't had any problems with the Vendstar machines - they delivered them when the promised and are easy to service. I don't know how much better these machines from the locator are because 3 months later - no machines.
My wife called Barry at APS about this - he made her feel stupid and she was in tears by the time she got off the phone.
To sum up my point: Don't ever trust a locating company that bad mouths their competition. It's simple psychology.

This is obviosly another locator service that has nothing better to do than make false reports to make them look bad. I do not bash other locating companies and have worked with Vendstar for over 11 years and would never bad mouth a company that has been nothing but good to me over the years. Vendstar is a good company and has a great machine. I do not have a locator by the name of Jet and would not use any locator that would bash a company that allows me to do work for them. I also do not have a job of 75 machines in Arizonia. I am in Fortson, GA. not Forsyth, GA. If I am such a bad company why do I have a A+ rating with the BBB and over 2400 positive ratings with a 100% positive ratings on Ebay.
