Not a rip off if you are willing to work.

I have been with Aerus/Electrolux for only 4 months now. I had the same offer. Management if I made it all the way through the "Ignition Program" The deal was I would receive X number of dollars per month during my training period. My end of the deal was that I would show the equipment 18 times per week. When I failed to show the equipment, I also failed to earn income. However, when I held up my end of the bargin, I was making a sale on the average of once every 4 demos. The money that was promised, came in. There is no company out there that will pay you not to work, It does Aerus no good to have their equipment in your possesion collecting dust. You must show it in order to sell and make the money. The door to door part is rough. at first. but after a while, one developes the attitude that allows him/her to laugh at some of the comments that they are met with. To be honest, I almost enjoy the comments of the not interested as much as I enjoy actually putting on a quality demo. I have checked the competition that is out there, none have yet to compare with the electrolux product line. You might have been better to stay in your area until you made it through the Ignition program and then made the move with a little more confidence in yourself. A great product, a great company. From the Glen Burnie office in Maryland. Good luck in your future jobs.

Direct sales usually means door to door...

I work for the same company and have also signed up for the management position. I'm not sure who hired you, but this company has changed my life. It's like I have my own company without any investment. I'm given the products to show and they practically sell themselves. Basically, if I don't want to work, I don't want to get paid. There are many lead generation systems suggested through training, the gaurantee states that for you to be paid your $2,000 you have to keep up your end of the contract. When you were hired you are given a book that describes your responsibilities to make that contract, if you don't fulfill your end, why should they pay you? Chances are you had the same opportunity to hire on where you came from, they could have trained you, got you to management level and then transferred you. You must not have checked things out enough. For you to advance through the company, you have to work. It's not a mediocure job with mediocure hours and mediocure pay. It's an awesome job where I've met wonderful people and have advanced through the company quickly because it's a performance based company. I have no glass cieling over me, I can go as high as I want to as long as I perform. There is no prejudice, you can be a minority and make it to Branch manager level, it's totally up to you. Sounds to me you were a little impulsive and didn't keep your end of the bargain up. When you were hired you were also told it would be a direct sales position, everyone from the sales rep to the vice president started in sales that means going to different doors and meeting new people. You probably did the best thing in quitting, if you can't sale, it wasn't for you to begin with. Bottom line, it was up to you to make it sucessful. Good luck in your future!
