I WAS REFERRED TO AFFORDABLE HOME MOVERS (US DOT #2841568 - MC# 951731) BY TOMMY FLANAGAN FROM AFFORDABLE AUTO TRANSPORTATION.  NATHAN MASON HAS BEEN WORKING MY ACCOUNT (HE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY BODY ON THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS SIDE).  NATHAN SCHEDULED MY MOVE, FROM VIRGINIA TO TEXAS, WITH ALB MOVING CORP (US DOT NO: 2478900 - MC NO: 869250).  ALB MOVING PICKED UP MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS ON JUNE 7, 2016 AND THE DELIVERY WINDOW WAS JUNE 13-JUNE 20.  IT IS JULY 10TH, AND ALB HAS NOT DELIVERED MY GOODS. 

 

ALB MOVING CORP IS A SMALL COMPANY, REGISTERED WITH ONE TRUCK AND IS OWNED BY MIGUEL ALBERTI.  ACCORDING TO NATHAN, ALB WAS NOT HIS BEST CREW BUT HE HAD WORKED WITH THEM BEFORE WITHOUT ISSUES.  ADDITIONALLY, NATHAN MENTIONED THAT HE LEARNED OF THIS MOVING CREW FROM HIS UNCLE.  PRIOR TO PICKUP, WORKING WITH NATHAN WAS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.  HE CALLED ALMOST EVERY DAY WITH UPDATES, REMINDERS, ETC.  BUT THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED AS ALB HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH.  ALB HAS PROVEN TO BE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRESPONSIVE, UNRELIABLE, AND NOT TRUST WORTHY.  ON THE OTHER SIDE, NATHAN HAS FAILED TO PROPERLY FOLLOW-UP, DOCUMENT, AND ESCALATE THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY DELIVERY.  ALSO, THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT DOWNGRADE TO HIS LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.  NATHAN HAS ALSO BECOME UNRESPONSIVE AND UNRELIABLE.  I CAN BARELY GET A CALL BACK FROM HIM THESE DAYS.  AND WHILE HE COMMUNICATED EARLY ON THAT HE WORKS EVERY DAY, AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES THAT I’VE SPOKEN TO HIM ON WEEKENDS, THE LAST THREE WEEKENDS HE DISAPPEARS AND PURPOSELY IGNORES MY CALLS. 

ALB PICKED UP MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS ON JUNE 7TH.  THEY SHOWED UP WITH TWO TRUCKS, NO PACKING MATERIALS (I REQUESTED THAT THEY PACK THE KITCHEN AND A FEW MISCELLANEOUS THINGS), AND WITHOUT THE PAPERWORK REQUIRED BY LAW.  I DID NOT RECEIVE OR SIGN ANY PAPERWORK WITH ALB BEFORE THEY LEFT WITH MY GOODS.  THEY ALSO DIDN’T PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT EVIDENCING THE CASH PAYMENT THAT I MADE OF $821.  MIGUEL ALBERTI TOLD ME THAT WE WOULD SIGN ALL OF THE PAPERWORK IN TEXAS (AT DELIVERY) AND CLAUDIA DUARTE (SHE WORKS FOR MIGUEL) WOULD E-MAIL ME A RECEIPT FOR PAYMENT.  

NATHAN AND ALB HAVE COMMUNICATED MANY DELIVERY DATES SINCE JUNE 15TH BUT I HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY GOODS.  AFTER WEEKS OF BEING MISLED, IGNORED, AND LIED TO, I EXPRESSED MYSELF VERY CLEARLY TO NATHAN AND CLAUDIA DUARTE.  I YELLED AT NATHAN SPECIFICALLY FOR HIS LACK OF FOLLOW-UP AS HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE DELAY WAS.  HE DIDN’T KNOW WHY THE DELIVERY WAS DELAYED, WHAT ISSUES IF ANY ALB WAS EXPERIENCING, OR WHEN I’LL RECEIVE MY GOODS.  HE DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING BUT HE KEPT TELLING ME THAT THE DELIVERY WOULD COME THIS DAY AND THAT DAY AND THAT I WAS GOING TO RECEIVE A REFUND FROM AFFORDABLE HOME MOVERS AND A DISCOUNT FROM ALB.  FINALLY, ON JUNE 28TH, NATHAN CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT HIS UNCLE (PLEASE NOTE, NATHAN’S UNCLE DOES NOT WORK FOR AFFORDABLE HOME MOVERS BUT APPARENTLY ALB WAS NOT RESPONDING TO NATHAN SO HE ASKED HIS UNCLE TO STEP IN SINCE THEY KNOW EACH OTHER AND THE UNCLE BRINGS ALB A LOT OF BUSINESS.) CONTACTED CLAUDIA DUARTE ON THREE-WAY AND THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN.  NATHAN ALSO COMMUNICATED THAT DELIVERY WOULD HAPPEN BY SUNDAY JULY 3RD.  I DID NOT RECEIVE THE DELIVERY AND NATHAN OF COURSE WASN’T ANSWERING MY CALLS THE ENTIRE WEEKENED. 

ON JULY 5TH, I CALLED AFFORDABLE AUTO TRANSPORTATION AND SPOKE TO RYAN TAYLOR (I UNDERSTAND HE IS THE SECOND MAN IN CHARGE AT AFFORDABLE).  RYAN TOLD ME THAT MY ACCOUNT DIDN’T DOCUMENT ANY ISSUES OR THAT THE DELIVERY WAS DELAYED.  HOWEVER, HE ASKED ME FOR MIGUEL ALBERTI’S PHONE NUMBER AND EITHER CLAUDIA DUARTE OR MIGUEL ALBERTI COMMUNICATED TO RYAN THAT THEY CONTINUE TO HAVE TRUCK ISSUES AND THEY ARE STUCK IN ALABAMA.  THIS WAS THE LAST TIME THAT I HEARD FROM RYAN TAYLOR AND I’VE NEVER HEARD FROM NATHAN MASON AGAIN … YET THEY SCHEDULED THIS MOVE AND MY GOODS HAVEN’T BEEN DELIVERED.  AFFORDABLE HOME MOVERS HAS WASHED THEIR HANDS OF THIS MESS, AS IF THEY HAVE NO FURTHER RESPONSIBILITY IN THE MATTER.      

LIES, LIES, AND MORE LIES … I SPOKE TO MIGUEL ALBERTI ON JULY 2ND, AND HE COMMUNICATED TO ME THAT THE TRUCK WAS FIXED THE NIGHT BEFORE (JULY 1ST) AND THAT HE IS ON HIS WAY TO DALLAS.  THAT’S THE STORY THAT HE GAVE ME YET HE OR CLAUDIA DUARTE GAVE RYAN TAYLOR A DIFFERENT STORY ON THE 5TH.  I ALSO SPOKE TO MIGUEL ON JULY 7TH (I CALLED FROM A DIFFERENT PHONE … THEY DON’T ANSWER IF THEY RECOGNIZE THE CUSTOMER’S PHONE NUMBER) AND HE COMMUNICATED THAT HE IS ON HIS WAY TO DALLAS AND TO GIVE HIM 2-3 MORE DAYS.  I ASKED HIM IF THIS WAS ANOTHER LIE, AND HE SAID NO.  THAT WAS THE LAST COMMUNICATION WITH MIGUEL ALBERTI. 

MIGUEL ALBERTI’S BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE UNFAIR TO CUSTOMERS.  BOTH MIGUEL ALBERTI AND CLAUDIA DUARTE MISLEAD, DECEIVE, AND LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.  THEY DO NOT PROPERLY COMMUNICATE, THEY ARE NOT HONEST, AND THEY ARE NOT TRANSPARENT.  AT NO POINT, HAVE CLAUDIA OR MIGUEL BEEN PROACTIVE TO CONTACT ME TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON OR APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVIENCE.   

 

IT’S MIND BOGGLING TO ME THAT BUSINESSES TODAY CAN DECEIVE, MISLEAD, RETALIATE, AND LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. 

I DO NOT RECOMMEND AFFORDABLE HOME MOVERS OR ALB MOVING CORP TO ANYBODY.  I SUGGEST EVERYONE USE THE BIG NAMES FOR THEIR INTERSTATE MOVING NEEDS.  THEY WILL COST A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS BUT IT’LL BE WORTH IT IN THE END.  SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE FROM DEALING WITH THESE SMALL/UNKNOWN COMPANIES THAT DON’T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND ARE SIMPLY JUST TRYING TO FEED THEMSELVES.
