Did anyone read what the Original poster said HIS MOTHER GAVE HIM the trailer. okay when someone GIVES you something and it is allegedly worth something. shouldn't that throw a "red flag" so this guy belly acheing cause he got a FREE (yes FREE) trailer that requires repairs. what did he expect if SHE GAVE IT TO HIM. a 2011 or 2012. HONEST TO JOHN. Freaking loser.

It don't matter if it's a 1929 model it was built with cheap material.....and that'a fact!!! You just don't built a top notch camper with cheap material. What Airstream has done was total american. You start off with a quality made product.
After Airsream convienced the public that they make a top-notched camper they start cutting corners and still charge the public for a top-notched camper.
To me Airstream is just another cheap trailer!!!!!!!

sir it's a 1988 model. I work for Airstream. I don't care if you got a 1988 car or truck or home. The home i live in was built in 1989(new) i've had to put a new roof on it. about 2 years ago. its part of owning stuff. Plus if your mother or who ever would of stay "on top" of the darn issues it wouldn't of leaked down the wall. as soon as it started leaking they should of either pulled the Airstream inside or put a tarp over the hole THEN GOT IT FIXED. I suppose you drive a 1988 truck to pull your Airstream and yet you raise h**l when the thing with 300,000 miles breaks down.

A 22 year old trailer with problems....go figure.
I don't see the ripoff here and I doubt it happened overnight.
Plywood would just as likely have failed after a period of water penetration.
I would guess your mother ripped you off by not fixing the leak years ago. ;)
I'm a little surprised you didn't try to get Airstream to "make it right."
