I received a statement in the mail on May 5, 2005 for a balance of $1,506.25. I wrote them back on May 10, 2005 to dispute to that outrageous balance.

I was only in class from March 20, 2005 until April 1, 2005 and that's after a whole mess of problems with AIU and the Department of Education.

The problems with the Department of Education was getting my Clearance Letter. I had talked with them over 15 times trying to get that information. AIU kept calling me at least twice a day for a letter I could not possibly get. I had the Department of Education sending AIU information telling them I was paying off a debt. Well AIU said that it wasn't good enough. I tried telling AIU that I couldn't get that letter until it was paid in full. Still AIU harassed me trying to get that letter that I couldn't get.

I told two financial advisors at AIU that I could not afford classes and they reassured me that it would be fine and that I could get the Sallie Mae Loan to help with classes. I was told that if I didn't sign a statement saying that I had to pay an astronomical amount of money a month then I would be kicked out of class. Of course, again I was told Not to worry because the Sallie Mae Loan would cover it.

Well, I was then denied the Sallie Mae Loan, after I told the advisors that I would probably be rejected because of a recent bankruptcy.

Now, after explaining to these advisors over and over again that I couldn't afford this, having problems with the Department of Education, and only being in school for two weeks I didn't understand why my balance is $1506.25.

I was passed around from one advisor to the next never getting any answers. I was continually harassed on a daily basis while I was in school. I didn't understand why I was being called all the time because I talked with different advisors all the time that didn't know my situation.

In my opinion I would stay "AWAY" from this school. I can't believe some of the postings I've seen from other former students and former employees. I wish someone would do something about this school before they rip off anyone else.
