I saw an online ad on www.kijiji.ca, posted by Alabon Kennel LTD and its onwer--Baghail Bhullar, for "pure-bred" Siberian Husky puppies for sale. I contacted Baghail Bhullar, and went to see the puppies on May.04.2016 between 2:00pm and 5:00pm with my girlfriend. I purchased the puppy for $1,800.00 cash, and signed a contract with the breeder, which had a clause that read "guarantee of pure-bred".

After 1 month of owning the puppy, I started to notice, as did other dog walkers and breeders, that the puppy did not fully resemble a Siberian Husky. I then purchased a DNA test kit called "Wisdom Panel" by Mars Veterinarian. After a month, the result came back that our dog is a Husky-Samoyed mix, specifically 75% Siberian Husky, 12.5% Samoyed, and 12.5% Bull Terrior. I had originally paid $1,800.00 because a "pure-bred" dog demanded a market premium over "cross-bred" dogs.

I tried to hold the seller to the contract we signed, and asked for a partial refund, so that the purchase price is consistent with a "cross-bred" dog. However, the seller was mostly unresponsive, and when he did eventually respond, after I threatened to take him to court, he made a very unreasonable offer.

He stated he would never offer a partial refund, but that he would offer a full refund, if we returned the dog to him. He claimed to be a dog lover, yet he doesn't seem to understand that dogs are living creatures and not simply inanimiate commodities like cars. We had already put 3 months of love and care into the dog, as well as money from vet visits to food and toys. In addition, this dog was also a present for my mother on monther's day after her old dog passed away. It's simply unreasonable to expect us to just forget and return the dog.

After reading about another complaint about this breeder and his company, I have decided to officially sue him in court, and I am currently awaiting trial. In the meantime, please know that his dogs-specifically the Huskies, are most likely not "pure-bred", and that "mixed-breed" husky puppies should only cost around $800.00. Just be aware that even if you sign a contract with him, he most likely won't honor it if something goes wrong. At best, that is unethical and ignorant, and at worst, it is criminal fraud. I hope I can finally bring some justice to this man and his poor business practice.
