In Feb. of 2006 my heater quit working. I made several calls to Alaskan Quality Services / AMS to see how soon I could get a tech out for a service call. The gal that answered the phone was pretty short with me. She said the guy who handles the calls was out and she said that she would have him call me back. He never did. I called again the next day and had to leave another message. My kids and I went without a heater for two days.
Since my heat pump failed during the coldest week of the year and I had no choice but to hire a local handyman to trouble-shoot my heat pump and fix the problem. I believe the problem was a frozen thermostat or resistor of some sort. The charges were approximately $300 for the parts and the call.
I have since had to hire a different company for a second call to fix a similar problem. I have been unable to fend off the bill collectors for the account that Alaskan Quality Services sold to GE Money Bank and their collectors.
Does anyone know if Alaskan Quality Services / AMS gets their money from GE Money Bank once the contract is sold to them? I have paid out a lot of money for services that I never recieved and now have to find an atorney to fight them in court.

I signed a contact with Alaskan Mechanical Services (DBA: Alaskan Quality Services, Tempe, AZ ) in the fall of 2005. The initial consultation and services provided on that call were paid for at the time of service. I did not need any appliance home services or other services of any type at any time and I made my monthly payments as scheduled. In Feb. of 2006 my heater quit working. I made several calls to Alaskan Quality Services / AMS to see how soon I could get a tech out for a service call. The gal that answered the phone was pretty short with me. She said the guy who handles the calls was out and she said that she would have him call me back. He never did. I called again the next day and had to leave another message. My kids and I went without a heater for two days. I believe the problem was a frozen thermostat or resistor of some sort. The charges were approximately $300 for the parts and the call. He did a great job and was efficient. The problem did not re-occur until I had to hire a North Phoenix company for a second call to fix a similar problem. The system is old but was still working fine through this winter. AMS sold my contract to GE Money Bank who then passed it onto Arrow Finiancial and neither firm was interested in the fact that Alaskan Quality Serviecs failed to meet their end of the contract. I have been unable to fend off the bill collectors and feel that Alaskan Quality Services sold to GE Money Bank and probably has already collected their money. Does anyone know if Alaskan Quality Services / AMS gets their money from GE Money Bank once the contract is sold off? I have paid out a lot of money for services that I never received and now have to find an attorney to fight them in small claims court.
