In a span of 5 days, I have received phone calls from a 'No Caller ID' number..of course I don't answer and they leave a mesage to call David Wake of Alberstons & Associates as they have paperwork they need to serve me at my work or home.

The first time they called, I called back right away wondering what on earth it could be. He said I was being sued by the Milwaukee County District Attorney for an unpaid debt. BUT, I could settle it with him over the phone to avoid future litigation...to the tune of $2,900! I had ZERO knowledge of this debt, never heard of this debt and certainly was NOT about to hand over money over the phone! I proceeded to tell him as much and he said, 'well, then the District Attorney will proceeed with their lawsuit'...I asked to send written proof of the 'debt' and, hmmm, the phone call 'disconnected'.

Over the last 4 days, I received a call every day. I finally called back again today and got a woman this time. I VERY politely said 'ma'am, I have no knowledge of this debt. Unless you are willing to provide me with written proof, I must insist you take me off your call list'. Well....holy cow...she flew off the handle! I got called every name in the book from a disgusting citizen who doesn't pay her debts to an awful American who has helped tank our economy...finally ending with a 'see you in court b***h'.  I honesty could not help but laugh out of the sheer surprise of her ridiculous outburst. Then she hung up on me.

Please beware of these scammers, don't EVER give bank info out over the phone! I happen to have attorneys in my family and know someone at the District Attorneys office. Of course, there is no lawsuits against me and in WI we have open public records searches, and of course nothing came up for me. I am not surprised, but these people were, in the beginning, believable and seemingly wanting to help. The account in question, they claim, was from 6+ years ago and how they got my current (semi-new) phone number and new a member of my family is beyond me. It's scary what information people can get their hands on. I have reported them to te FTC, BBB and my local district attorney's office.
