In response to this posting, there are always two sides to a story. When this person brought his used motor into me, which had over 130,000 miles on it, the customer stated he wanted to use his old original parts to include cylinder heads,(which had 2 broken bolts in them), used his old lifters, which he didn't want to replace and his original pushrods. I gave him a 2 hour seminar on why you should not freshen the heads without re-ringing the bottom end of the engine especially with 130,000 miles on it, also this customer bolted on his own intake manifold. You think maybe he used the wrong intake gaskets or might not have properly sealed the intake manifold, also the customer bought a new proform carb from us, and asked 10-20 times how to tune the engine because it had a rich condition, but never wanted to bring car to us to properly tune (can we say wash the cylinders down ?????) Do you want to here more ???
