My company was solicited by "Buddie" at Allied to purchase new computer systems. As president of Computer Solutions, Inc., I decided to go ahead and purchase a computer system from Allied. The FIRST computer I purchased arrived defective. There was NO visible damage in shipping. As a computer expert AND owner of a computer service company... it is my firm understanding that this computer was NOT tested before it was shipped from Allied. I contacted the manufacturer of the computer mainboard (MSI) and they confirmed that either the mainboard or the HDD were defective. I wound up installing a different type of HDD into the machine to make it work. This entire ordeal delayed my shipment to my customer by about 1 week. On top of that, I have expense and time repairing the machine as it was sent to me - untested and defective. The HDD I installed to replace the original unit cost me $100.

I contacted Allied. Troy informed me that my company "wasn't really that large enough for Allied to be concerned about". Buddie and Greg laughed at me when I demanded compensation for the loss of business and defective computer. Their tech support dept delayed me for hours claiming a special "driver" was necessary to make the HDD work! This is misinformation confirmed by the MFG of the mainboard. On top of that, 3 of Allied's technicians confirmed on the same INCORRECT INFORMATION. The mainboard model is an MSI 865GVM2-LS. This board does NOT require any such drivers to make the HDD work!

To date, I have received no compensation from Allied for all of these problems. They have only made an offer to replace the system or parts or make a refund on the parts IF they deem them defective and ONLY AFTER I send said system or parts back to Allied at MY expense. This is NOT feasible for any computer reseller. We buy systems from companies such as Allied to resell them. As such the systems need to be TESTED and working as advertised before they are sent out. This system has already been delivered to our customer... and I can only hope it continues to work. Allied has thus far refused to let me speak to the person they claim tested the system or explain how this happened.

As an new customer of Allied, I expected they would have gladly offered some compensation for this MAJOR problem on my FIRST order with their company. To date, they have offered nothing but arguments and frustration (for both me and my customers). I expect a partial refund from Allied to resolve this dispute - $100 for the cost of the HDD I had to install to make the system work and $49 for labor to install it.
