In October 2015 we hired Ameramove to move our items from our townhome in Rockwall to a storage unit a few miles away as our home that was being built was not ready to move into. We packed all our items ourselves. The movers owner came out a few days before the move and gave us a written quote for $850.00 and represented himself as licensed and  member of the BBB and the Southwest Mover Association, which I checked with the Texas Motor Vehicles and they initially confirmed this. I personally watched the owner of the company carry my kitchen items and appliances and serving/ entertainment wear  out of  our  townhome as I enjoy gourmet cooking on my free time and they are high end items. Upon completing the move to storage we were presented with a bill of $1750.00 double of that of what we were quoted.

We moved to west Texas s for 60 days while waiting for our home.  We visited the storage 3 times to water our plants; but the storage was near inaccessible.  In December we hired Ameramove to take the items they moved in initially out of storage and move them into our home.  We were given a cash price of $1350 and we buy lunch and beer for after the move.  Ameramove moved all the boxes except the kitchen into the garages, they moved the kitchen boxes into the house which we thought was odd.  They broke the glass out two large pictures and a pane of glass from our backers rack.  The owner offered to replace the pictures glass only if we would give him the pictures which we declined as he was going to do it himself and the frames are complex and require a framer to do the work and didn’t feel comfortable him taking the pictures.

The following week we had completed our unpacking and a majority of my many kitchen appliances were missing as well as my serving wear and other kitchen and decoration items.  My husband texted him asking him the whereabouts of our items which he said he didn’t know.  He always brought all employees in his vehicle so he would be knowledgeable if one of his staff took items.   My husband also informed him that we paid $177.00 for glass replacement of the pictures which he texted back saying he could have done it for $25.00 but never offering to take responsibility.  He also was not concerned about our missing items. My husband noticed that on his social media site he had two items one being a large kitchenaid stand mixer that were identical to one of  the items missing. My husband texted him to inquire-my husbands was met with rude emails asking us not to text him. We texted him asking him to return our items and leave them on our doorstep with no questions, he never responded.

The items were never returned and we therefore have filed a stolen property report against Ameramove and I called Southwest Movers Association to see if complaints existed against them but it turned out he has not been a member since October 2014 so he falsified his business cards.   I called Texas Motor Vehicles again and they too said he had misrepresented that he was a member of southwest movers association which affects his Texas License. We will need to take him to court.  I strongly encourage you to not hire this company it is our opinion they are scammers and took our items and I hate others to be victimized.
