American Classic Motorcycles, American Classic Motors Sold me a counterfit Wimmer Spike Air intake Zieglersville Pennsylvania
My problem was this:
I found a WIMMER spike air intake on the web cheaper than what I could find anywhere else. I purchased from American Classic Motors on January 11th, 2007 for $613. I installed on my bike and found some problems down the line.
The breather bolts kept shearing off(one time in NW Ohio on my way to Milwaukee, that was fun), the bracket had cracked, and the chrome was flaking off way too early for the age.I went straight to the manufacturer in Souderton, near my house.
When I brought the product to the manufacturer they stated that it wasn't their product, showed me the differences between their product and the
intake I have(counterfeit) and then they went on to say they had ebay shut down American Classic Motors ebay site before for this EXACT problem with this EXACT product(listing Wimmer product when it was the fake)? At the time I could not remember who I had bought the intake from, but Wimmer went straight to the AMC site on their computer.
I went back in my Paypal transactions when I got home and there it was, bought from AMC, and the description said "Wimmer Spike Air intake". It did not say "Fake chinese backwards engineered POS" They are selling the fake for $300 right now and not listing the Wimmer.
I tried to contact and resolve but they said that "there was nothing they could do in this case".
