I had been getting phone calls on my cell phone showing an anonymous caller this past week-end (april 1-april 3). today, april 4 i took the call.

A Mr. martin lawrence told me that i had been selected to recieve a government grant worth 5k and all he needed to do is confirm my information. He asked if i was still residing at my current address, if i had applied for any government grants or loans, i said yes. he asked for my bank name, i gave it to him, then he asked for my bank account number. he said it was to insure that the money was being given to the right person. I asked why the bank account number and not my social security number or date of birth or mothers maiden name?

he said to insure it was given to the right person, i said i would not and that i wanted to speak to someone eles to see what eles i could give to get the grant, he put me on hold then a man came back and said his name was mark baker, (mark sounded like martin so i asked if it was the same person, he said no. i went through the same issue and he still persisted that i give him my bank account number. I told him that i didnt feel safe in giving that information. he proceded in asking if i didn't trust u.s companies. i said no but that there were bad companies out there.

i asked for his phone number, he gave 866-454-4564. then i asked for his name again he said martin lawrence! I emphasized the fact that he had told me he was a different person and that i was going to research his company and go to the Better Business Bureau. He hung up on me!
