American Home Mortgage Service Inc. Option One Mortage, AHMSI, Foreclosed upon, but not really Internet
My wife and I fought with this company for over 2 years about our mortgage. Went in and out of bankruptcy to save our home twice. Everytime you spoke with them the amounts were different. Yea we fell behind for a couple of months and of course they formulated a payment plan and we stuck to there plan. We were unaware that they initiated forclousure proceedings along with our payment plan and if we defaulted in anyway POW your foreclosed upon.
Long story short, we received 3 certified letters on the same day from there legal department with a sale date for our property. We were out on that date. Had an estate sale, sold off all we could and put the rest in storage. Now this house was my wife's family home been there over 20 years, her and her 1st husband built the house, raised her son's there and had her business there.
Two months after we left the house we received a piece of mail wanting to know if we wanted to apply for loan modification so we could keep our home. Of course we called them and we were told that we still owned the property the foreclosure sale was put on hold and the new sale date was mid-September 09. We were NEVER informed of a hold on the original sale date (July-09). There rep. told us that after the sale date they usually give 60-90 days for us to be out of the house before they have you evicted, how can that be? Is the new owner of the property just going to allow us to stay on his property? In there letter it states must be out by noon on the date of the sale, and we were.
We immediately went back to the property to see it (we moved 180 miles away from the property). The place was ransacked, wood stoves stolen, someone had been living there with animals and the place smells awful.
Oh but of course our debt to AHMSI has still been increasing.
My wife and I believe this is emotional terrorism of the worst kind,Losing our home, selling of belongings, relocating, just to find out it was all for nothing. But do they care? NO, they just want there money.
