Attention fellow translators. This company is a fraud. They contracted us for $3000 and we provided two interpreters. They paid the deposit by credit card and left the card to charge the balance in case they did not pay. Well, they didnt pay. They played games, change the terms, promised to pay and then stopped retruning calls. We charged the balance due to the card and now they have contested both the deposit and the balance. These people are outright frauds. We are filing a formal complaint with the ATA and advise all translators to not work with them. Even when they pay you, you dont even now if you can keep the money. Maybe they are in bad financial condition and support themselves off us freelancers.

Please note in RipOff Report that this is not an isolated situation. This is the way they do business.

Be very careful, please.

American Language Services - Victims of this unfortunate situation

This is a rebuttal to the defamatory posting on 10/03/16: COMPLAINT AMERICAN LANGUAGE SERVICES

I want to make it completely clear; we are the victims of this unfortunate situation, not the company who did this posting.  Please read below:

The freelance company/author of this posting coerced us to give a credit card deposit the day prior to the assignment and at the same time informed us that they were raising their rates.  A deposit was not discussed prior to this time and the rate had already been agreed upon.

They stated that if we did not comply with both of these demands, they would not show up for the interpreting assignment for the next morning.  This left us no time to replace the interpreters and would have put the entire job in jeopardy.   We agreed to these terms under severe duress since we had no choice.

We also agreed to pay them with check after the job was completed which they received and cashed.  See proof attached.  In addition they went ahead and charged our card again without our authorization and failed to inform us.

They double charged us and then we disputed the charges stating they were already paid with check.  Our check cleared our bank with their signature.  They did not do a satisfactory job, made unauthorized copies at the hotel and had the charges passed on to our client which was also unauthorized.  They spend about $500 of our clients’ money without any authorization.  We were forced to eat these costs and give our client a discount.   We have done nothing wrong in this matter and are the victims of this unethical company doing this post.  We are a very professional company and pay our vendors in a timely manner.
