I was searching on my local weather page and there was an ad for American Laser Center. Interested I clicked on the ad and it took me to a contest entry page. It said I had the chance to win up to $1,600 hundred dollars in free services. I thought why not, it couldn't hurt. So I entered.

Six weeks later I received a phone call saying I had won $300 to use towards a service. I thought ok, I could at least go in and check it out. I scheduled my appointment and went in.

The first woman I met was nice, but rather pushy. She made me feel like I had to buy something and basically pushed me into buying something I didn't want and couldn't afford.

Needless to say, I get home realize that had I to undo my purchase and gave them a call. This woman answered and said "you signed a contract and your money is non refundable." I asked her if there was anything she could do since I am a full-time student who couldn't afford the treatments. She informed me that it wasn't her problem and that I should try and sell my "package" to someone else.

Dissappointed and frustrated I hung up and talked to my mom about it. My mom thought that maybe if she talked to her that maybe she might be able to get my money back for me, even if it wasn't the whole amount.

This woman named "Angela" answered the phone and my asked her about my bill. She asked if I was 18 and said that she couldn't discuss my medical history with her due to HIPAA laws. Well, my mother knows about HIPPA and said that since I am 18 that I can release my information to whom ever I wish.

"Angela" got very mad and said well she would need written permission from myself. My mom asked her to fax the form to her, she got very upset said some nasty comments and refused to fax over the form to have me sign it. My mom asked what needs to be done to take care of this situation, and she said, "By calling my regional manager, which I won't give you and good luck getting it," with that she rudely hung up on my mom.

I have just begun this process and do not know how to proceed. However I thought that other may benefit from my experience and really check out this company before they sign anything. If anyone has any advice or can give me a contact number please do so, I desperately need the help.
