A telephone call offered a free home energy audit supported by APS and SRP. When I asked if it was the utility companies (APS and SRP are our local utility companies), the woman on the telephone replied, "Yes, the utility companies, APS and SRP."

This began a series of unfortunate events, as yet unresloved. Instead of hanging up the telephone as I should have, I arranged for a representative to visit and conduct a no-charge energy audit of our home. After all it was free of charge and "sponsored by APS and SRP" how could this be a bad thing. The utility companies are always doing community service projects and encouraging green thinking, so this seemed consistent with past projects. Wrong!

The representative called and visited the next day. He forgot his card, we were feeling poorly coming down with flu-like symptoms, and he was very smooth. All these events were designed to take our money and that is why I am posting this report. I don't want someone else to be a victim and feel taken to the cleaners. I am loosing sleep, fearing retaliation, feeling humiliated and worried that someone else might find themselves in our circumstances. I don't know if the subcontractors are in on these plans, I rather suspect not.

When we finally received a business card from the representative some time later, my husband had already signed a contract with them. On the reverse side of his card was Arizona Power Savers (APS), (the utility APS is Arizona Public Service Company). SRP the utility company stands for Salt River Project, on the card SRP short for Solar Reliant Power. I didn't feel well and almost didn't turn the card over. How often do you look at the back of someone's business card?

I called SRP customer service number, and they had never heard of America's Best Home Pros, and had their own home energy audit team. What a mess. There are a few other issues, things they did wrong, but I really want to stop people from falling for the same telephone call. I hope this is enough information to alert all of you to be smarter than we were.

ELECTRIC BILL $100.85 LESS THAN PREVIOUS MONTH Dear Gentlemen, It is with great enthusiasm I write you to praise you and your company for all you have done for us in our home little more than a month ago. We just got our first SRP bill since your improvements were installed. Our new bill was exactly $100.84 LESS than last month!! That is truly astounding! We are very pleased! When Jim came to visit and performed a complimentary energy analysis on our home, after reviewing the results and seeing what ABHP could do to improve energy efficiency, we contracted you to install the solar shield material in our attic and to clean and seal the ducts. Jim's attitude and professionalism made the interview very pleasant. There was no hard selling and that made my husband and I comfortable about our investment decision. As fate would have it, shortly after we agreed on the improvements, our AC broke down. The AC contractor's did a very sloppy job resulting in serious water damage to our ceiling and we had to postpone ABHP indefinitelythe AC contractors were giving us a bad time about repairing their damage and cleaning up their mess. (Very stressful ordeal for me.) Brenda, in your office was so supportive! I had to cancel ABHP and was not in a position to commit to another appointment right away. There was no pressure. Brenda took it all in stride and reassured me that you will be ready when we are. And it was true! A week or two later, once we had our problems resolved, we contacted Brenda and she very efficiently scheduled everything to accommodate our availability to be home for the workers. When Dave, your employee showed up to perform the duct cleaning, my husband and I were impressed with his friendliness and professionalism. He took great care throughout our home and was very considerate of us and our pets, particularly our scare-die cat that we (even Dave) had to chase from room to room to keep him out of the way. J The guys in the attic installing the solar stuff were quiet and efficient. I hardly knew they were up there and no one left me a mess to clean up like the AC contactors had. Ray was awesome. After performing the duct analysis and going over all that was done, he gently suggested we consider including the heat pump fan and vents for the garage to get the optimum performance on conserving energy. We had originally opted that out with Jim trying to save money but our overall experience with everyone at ABHP was so positive, that we took another look at it. It wasn't much more money at all for the benefits we were told to expect, so we agreed and I am so glad we did! The proof is in our SRP bill! It is too few and far between these days to receive the kind of customer care we experienced with ABHP. Your products and service are positively over the top! We will recommend ABHP to everyone! We knew we wanted tubular skylights, but the Solatube Dealer was flakey. We've dealt with America's Best in the past and we trust them. Therefore when they recommend Natural Light Skylights we said sure! The installation was great and the installer even painted the flashings so they matched our roof tiles. Overall I am very pleased! The skylights seem to have a smaller foot print above the roofline than the Solatube brand. Also I looked at the product before they were installed, and was impressed with the all aluminum construction. I like the fact that the inside diffuser solidly snaps on, unlike the Solatube, that had a weird spring mechanism. Finally, I am happy that these are made locally. - Michael D. Gilbert AZ - March 04, 2008 HOT GARAGE + HOT ATTIC = HOT HOUSE We saw the GF-14 Garage Fan and Attic Cooler at a recent home show. At the show we made an appointment for the installation. We would have to say that we are totally impressed when the crew showed up on time in uniforms and put the GF-14 fan in with absolutely no clean up. The GF-14 Fan started running right away. We noticed that the garage was quite cooler the next day when we came home. Since the garage is cooler we are sure that the attic is cooler. We know that if we can get the attic cooler perhaps we can save some money on our high air conditioning bills. - C&C Bentley - Phoenix AZ May 2007 2 Story Problems Solved! At a recent Home and Garden Show we found America's Best Home Pros and inquired about their solutions to our unbearably hot second story. Mr. Baxter explained that the garage and the top floor attic are building up with radiant heat and causing the rooms above the garage and the upper floor to be 8 to 10 degrees above the bottom floor. We set an appointment for an installation of the GF-16 Thru-wall garage fan and a solar attic fan for our top floor attic. We noticed with in a few days that the rooms above the garage and the whole second story were quite comfortable. In-fact the two floors were within about 4 degrees of each other. It just go to show that the products and services offered buy America's Best Home Products are something that anyone with similar problems should consider. We tell everyone we know about them. -T O Conner - Phoenix AZ April 2006 Hot Garage - Sticky Humidity I was searching the internet for a way to cool my garage and I found your website. After a call to your company, I decided to order the GF-14 Garage Fan. The fan came via UPS within about a week and I installed it that following Saturday in our fairly new home with a 3 car garage. The fan went in quite easily following the instructions. Once I wired it to the back of garage door opener outlet and turned on the power it started right up. You can really feel the air flow in the garage! Here in Atlanta the humidity can become quite high. I have noticed with the GF-14 that the garage is much more comfortable by keeping a steady flow of air through it. When I come home from work after driving some 30 miles and pull into the garage I know that the GF-14 Garage Fan is helping cool down my car rather than just building up more heat in my garage. I was over at his house and he showed it to me. He closed the door and I was amazed of the air flow that was going through his garage. You could feel it all a crossed it from side to side. I asked him where to purchase one for myself and he directed me to your website. I ordered the fan in installed it. It was quite easy and only took about an hour. The GF14 Fan works just like it was designed for. It brings cooler air into a stuffy and hot garage making it much more bearable to work in on weekends which is when I tinker around out there. We do believe that a company should always expect to render a good service, without having to be praised for it. Yet, I have to say that your installers were punctual and courteous, answered our questions readily and we appreciate that very much. Your people say a lot about your company. We just received out first APS bill since the work was done and we know it may be a bit premature on the energy savings, one curious thing happened. My nephew asked me to take care of his ASP bill while he was away. His bill for a 2 bedroom apartment was $94.00, while ours for the same month, a 5 bedroom 2 story home was $100.00. Not a bad sign. I rarely believe what I hear about how great products are, but this time was different. I had ABHP replace my old plastic skylights with the double pane glass, and I can already tell the difference. I also had them install the tubular skylights and I just love them. I had to get a diffuser on the kitchen one because it was so bright! I was amazed. Not only that the product was as good as they said it would be, the team cleaned up the area inside and outside my home! I had nothing to do after they left but to look at the amount of light I now have in my home. I highly recommend this company and will use them again. My husband and I are very happy with the service and products we had Americas Best Home Pros install for us. I was not familiar with "Rip Off Report" on the web and discovered it only when Googling ABHP with the intent of sending them a letter of thanks and sharing news of our pleasant discovery at opening our SRP bill. I was saddened by the report against this company. Had I read it before I gave them a chance, I probably wouldn't have and would still be spending a great deal more money on my energy bill. The products they offer are genuine and the results tangible. The employees are highly professional and friendly. No pressure, no "hard selling"..................
