America's Choice, Florida Door Company ripoff Jacksonville Florida
On March 13, 2005 my 87 year old mother was victimized by America's Choice/Florida Door Company. My mothers garage door was not operating properly and she call America's Choice/Florida Door Company for repairs. She was told that the springs had to be replaced and would cost approximatley $300.00. Moments later she ended up with purchasing a new door opener and all the related parts. The total was $938.90.
Thinking this was too costly I called two other companies and they stated the repairs and motor would normally sell for around $550.00 - 650.00 with top shelf parts.
I spoke with Chris the "alledged technician" and he was rude at best and un-willing to neogiate the price. I asked who the owner was and he replied John Stevens (spelling).
Bottom line Stevens nor anyone at the company has yet to call and return to fix the door that is now not working properly.
In my opinion this company is a fraud preying on the elderly and unassuming.
All I want is the door fixed, fair market value for service, and of course expose this deceptive company for what it is.
