Bought an item that was falsely advertised as another, much more expensive item, through the Walmart.com website. There was no obvious indication that it was actually being sold by a third party retailer, AMI Ventures Inc. When I received the item, it was not only a different item than what I thought I had ordered, but it was also damaged/missing pieces. I contacted AMI Ventures to return the item, and they kept giving me the runaround. They refused to issue an RMA. I also tried contacting Walmart (in store and by phone) and was only referred back to AMI Ventures.
I was completely scammed by AMI Ventures, and Walmart had the gall to back them up. Furthermore, Walmart's vetting system for third parties allows easy manipulation and exploitation of trusting customers. I filed a complaint with my credit card, which took almost 2 months to resolve. Additionally, I had to stay on top of the dispute, because Walmart, again, backed their third party retailer by providing proof of delivery and order confirmation... Well of course I ordered it, Walmart, but who was to know they would send garbage?!
Shame on walmart.com
