Was contacted through an ad I placed on Craigslist for a life settlement buyer. He said his name was James Moran. He sent some very real emails with company headers. After discussing the options he said he could get me a buyer at 35% of my death benefit. I needed to pay 250.00 for life ins exam. I sent it to him via paypal. He refunded it and asked to have it sent again. His paypal account then became locked and could not receive funds. So he wanted me to go to his credit union, only 1 hour away. But I was unable to get their so he had me use money gram. He said he was out of the country but his brother in law Anthony Hinson (an aka I know now) was picking it up so send it to him. After that his attorney that sets up the exams said I was difficult and drop me. So he had an other partner to go with.
That guy through James or Anthony or Tony who ever he is Set me an exam up. I had to drive 5 hours to the insurance companies preferred doctor a 9335 McKnight road sure 101 pittsburg pa. I could never get the name of the doctor, or the ins agent meeting me thier until 7pm the night before. The name he gave was oliver chang. I looked it up. It was an eye docter. I tried to get him to send the money back but he claimed I missed my opportunity to retire using his money and he was out 1500 for his portion of the exam fee. I do not understand why a scammer would have some one drive over 550 miles to a non existent appointment. No more funds in it for them. Unless they were setting up to mug me. I did not go after to the appointment after i found out the docter were i was going was an eye docter. And the insurance agents name never came. He was smooth. He had good looking emails and used other companies websites logos He got 250 hard earned dollars plus moneygram charged me 25 so I lost 275.00
