I had used AOL before and they screwed me then by taking out the money twice every month instead of once. They convinced me this was mine or my husband's fault. So I thought I would try them again. But after I had set up my free account I found out I was being charged long distance charges on my phone bill because I live in a very rural area and aol does not have a toll free dial up number.

SO I called and cancelled the account like 4 days after I started it. The lady told me she would keep the account open until June something in case I wanted to go to a library or something to use the accout. If I decided then to keep the account to call back and it would only be like $3 a month. Well, May they did not take money out of my account because I called the bank and checked just to make sure because they had screwed me before.

This morning my husband went to the atm to take out money for his lunch and it showed a balance of $1 and some odd cents. He called me because he thought I had lied to him about how much was in our account. I called the bank and checked what all had cleared and aol had taken out $28 and some odd cents.

I called aol and they told me I was suposed to call and RECANCEL my account in June. What's the deal with that! Why would there be any need to recancel your account? I was told if I did not call back it would just be cancelled. Now they say that I have to have a cancellation number to get any money back. I think I had one, but why would I have kept it for three months when I thought my account was cancelled!

I will never use aol again. The first time I might could understand but twice is ridiculus! I am going to the bank on my lunch break to have them fight with aol and then I will not allow anymore money to be pulled out of my account wihtout my written consent. If they say they can't do that then I will change banks.

We live on a budget and though $30 is not alot to have in your account but it was a lot more than $1. I also have three checks that haven't cleared yet that total less than $28. If they bounce because of aol I will be in a world of trouble! I don't have the money to pay for hot checks!
