Complaint Review: Apex Alarm System - Anchorage Alaska

Mr. ttt's remarks are all you need to know in order to avoid this company (APX) at all costs.  I have worked in the industry for a nationwide company for 9+ years in both the residential and commercial areas.  What Mr. ttt says is truly frightening because some people will believe it.  As Mr. PT Barnums famously said "There's a sucker born every second."

   just think about the logistics of calling a police officer directly.  The company would not only need to have every officers name and schedule (along with what sectors they will be patrolling) but also the ability to crosscheck the address of their client with a street map and the officers territory.  CRAZY.  In addition the company would need to either have each officers personal phone number or the ability to hop into and onto each municipalities dispatch system to dispatch the officer directly. If you forgot during 911 the NYPD fire and police dispatch systems could not coordinate (merge) causing mass confusion and time lost.  The idea that a privately or publicly held firm could use the system is idiotic.

REALILTY:  every real company keeps track of and updates the non-emergency dispatch number for every municipality or county.  At that point is is the responsibility of the local dispatcher to send the appropriate agency or officer.  And just as an FYI, a "non-emergency number" is a number answered 24/7 by dispatchers, it is just not 911. A dispatcher from an alarm company dialing 911 just gets them in touch with their local (wherever the alarm company is located) emergency dispatch.

   the national BBB would beg to differ.  As of last week, APX carried a C- rating with 1,646 complaints in the last 36 months.  If you look through their rating you can see the growing list of states and counties that have judgments against them for misleading and fraudulent sales practices.  Just is my little area of the world their peddlers license (required to knock on doors) has been revoked in all of the suburbs do to the BBB report.  Moving on.

Even though I work for a competitor, I enjoy APX's annual visit to our area.  They get their fair share of sales but they also drum of lots of business for myself and my company.  Once a client has followed their gut and got a second opinion they don't always buy from me but at least they walk away from our meeting as a trained consumer and they NEVER buy from APX.

But if a person that is seeing ways to break in......Thats didfferent. People are desperate for money to provide for their family and will do, see how to do something easy to fix their problem. You sound like a pretty smart person. If not...my deepest apology. But it's happening and it will get worse. And as far as the monotoring for us calling the po po. Have you worked in a Alarm Company before? Do you know what goes on? Do you know who they call? Or are you guessing. If you have worked for a company that didn't call the closest po po by the area, then you were with a (what people say) not so good of a company.

   For the same reason that a chihuahua humping a toaster has 20 million views.  People will watch anything.

  What a crock.  Typical sales hype.   If you really think that some alarm company can bypass police dispatch and contact a police officer directly, you've been smoking your own brochures.

Think about it......A million views. for what reason? And by law 3 days APX, gives you to see the unit, play with it, alarm it, sit it off...etc.... Go with another company then. No other company gives you 3 days. If they give you anytime, it would be 24 hours. And for the police department your mother is right. If APX called directly to the police station, thenit might take time not 1-2 hours. And please tell me his, why would you pay 30 or 44 dollars a month for someone to dial 911? Professional companies like ADT, APX, Pinical dont do that they call directly to the closest police officer to dispatch him/her. Trust me if the line went directly to the police your bank account would be negative from all the false alarm fines. APX has the fastest response time in the alarm industry. Fo OTHER companies, it takes aywhere from 20 seconds to 10 minutes to hear back from the company. APX takes anywhere from 9 to 12 seconds. If you dont believe me then set your alam off and wait for the call. I know everybody has issues from sales rep's. Its just a profession and alot of people abuse it. But just know that you are with a GREAT company. You just have some issues to deal with and their costomer service is great and they DO want to assist you the best they can 

So is Apex licensed to do business in your area?

In many jurisdictions in Canada they have been under investigation and had to remove them selves from the area to avoid prosicution

Check to see if your alarm quit because they were forced to stop doing business in your area.

File a complaint with the police, BBB, etc for ... fraud maybe.
