Autosearch ,Essex Their False Advertising Caused me to lose 2000 Essex Nationwide United Kingdom
Sterling advertise as being the best LGV (HGV) training school in the UK. They profess to provide near new vehicles, offer a high standard of training and to have training schools all over the UK.
The turth is that once you have paid to book a course with them you soon discover that the vehicles are old, the standard of training amounts to just driving around in a lorry for a few days and they don't actually have any training schools as the trainer just meets you in the street. I actually spent more time stood at burger bars with the trainer than I did driving the lorry.
I had the humiliation of failing four tests and being told that my standard fell far short of what was required. When pointing all of these facts out to Sterling I soon discovered that the company wasn't interested. They refused me a refund and told me that my unlimited attempts insurance had ran out?
So I was basically ripped off by this company and I fear that as many as 100,000 people in the UK have also lost up to 2000 with adds up to quite a sum of money being extorted from the British Public.
I reported them to the Essex Trading Standards Dept and am waiting to see the outcome of their investigations. I am also taking them to arbitration if I have not received a refund within the next few weeks.
