School is a big commitment of not just money, but time. The admissions staff goes through quite a bit to make sure that you're in a place where you will be successful in completing the program. If you do enroll, the cost associated with not completing the program isn't in "fine print." It's a chart that shows the amount of hours you've completed vs. what you owe in tuition if you complete 'x%' of the program. The student, the staff member, & the parent (if the student is a minor) are required to sign off on this. It's one of the many reasons why attendance is so important. In an unforeseen circumstance, the student is allowed to go on a leave of absence and continue the program when they are ready to return. If you've gotten a quarter of the way through only to decide it's just "not for you," you've potentially taken the spot of another student who would have completed the program successfully. It's a big investment of time & money, and if you AGREE to complete school and don't, then you SHOULD be responsible for the bill.

I enrolled at Aveda Insitutute because they told me a lot of things that when I started the program, Aveda did not follow through with. Most anytime someone wants your money, they are going to be very persuading and nice. Just beware and I hope it works out for you. I did not work our for me as I was a very good student but refused my training and kicked out - being charge thousands of dollars!

I am due to start Aveda Tallahassee in February and they were very up front with me about how much I would owe. They gave me a chart and everything. You should have asked about stuff like that before you committed to them. It is very easy to get information from them if you ask for it. I've only been speaking with them for a few days and I already have TONS of information. It seems as if you were the one at fault.
