Avis Car Rental falsely charged for excessively dirty car Beaverton OR
We rented an SUV for a three week rental for a road trip. This was normal usage, we weren't in excessively muddy or sandy areas. When the vehicle was returned, the agent at the counter looked at the vehicle and said everything looked fine. A couple of weeks later we received a notice stating the interior was "filthy" and they were charged a $75 cleaning fee for doing nothing more than a quick vaccum of the interior. We did rinse off the exterior of the vehicle because there was quite a bit of bug residue on the exterior. If the interior had been excessively dirty, we would have vaccumed too.
After receiving the notice we were told the interior was just filthy, excessive dirt everywhere. We reviewed the photos they took and saw nothing more than a little dirt and a couple of leaf particles tracked in from shoes or as transfer from loading a bag. Normal for a car that has been driven several thousand miles over a 3 week period. We have photos available but in a pdf. file. If we can figure out how to add them we will.
