On December 10th I needed a new vacuum cleaner and contacted Bakanec's.  I spoke with "Rich" and told him that I was looking a NEW upright vacuum.  He told me that he had two NEW upright Hoovers in stock priced at $229.00 on sale for $180.00.  Although there was a bright sign on the unit advertising "NEW", it looked a little dull and I asked him not once but twice if it was NEW.  He assured me that it was indeed NEW.  He then made a big deal about no refunds.  I wasn't concerned about that because I figured if it was indeed NEW the manufacturer would take care of any problems that might arise.

When I got it home my son looked at it was convinced that it was used!  I went there for a new appliance not a USED piece of crap!  I called the Hoover Company the next morning and provide the model number and the serial number.  It is their belief that the serial number and the model number do not match and that this guy intentionally placed a sticker from a newer vacuum on this much older unit to make it look like it was manufacture in June of 2009 when in fact it is soooo OLD that they no longer have it in their system.

BUYER BEWARE...There are several more used and refurbished vacuum cleaners for sale on his floor...ALL MARKED AS "NEW".  How much more fraudulent can it get?  I am out the $199.00 I paid for a vacuum I can't use.  I need to clean my house badly but especially for Christmas and I don't have the extra money to go out and buy the new vacuum that he supposedly sold to me!

This person, did indeed come into my store, and i found that the company sent the wrong machines, the person filing this compliant has been fully refunded, and the manufacturer has sent me new machines, i can only hope that this person does not try and back-charge me since she has cashed the full  refund check, and that would be fraud against my company, legal action would have to take place.   Bakanec Vacuums only sell new machines and does have posted policy's all around the selling floor as it is also a customer service to them in their buying decisions.

I am updating this posting to correct the spelling of this business so that others don't miss out on this warning.  I had spelled Bakanec's with two c's ( Bakanecc's), rather than with one.

On December 10th I needed a new vacuum cleaner and contacted Bakanec's.  I spoke with "Rich" and told him that I was looking a NEW upright vacuum.  He told me that he had two NEW upright Hoovers in stock priced at $229.00 on sale for $180.00.

Hoover has created a case file under this name regarding this incident!
