I called BWG today asking for a copy of the Terms and Conditions (Warranty Agreement). I received an email from them with the document attached. In it, there is no stipulation regarding a depreciated value schedule. It is a repair or replace warranty. BWG always has the option to replace the TV with a comparable one (up to the price of the original TV) if they don't want to repair mine.
Barrett Antenna and Service has already quoted me $314.00 to come on site and repair the ballast (labor and visit included). So wouldn't it be in BWG's best interest to repair the TV instead of replacing it?
But the option chosen instead (by BWG) is to ignore the terms and conditions.... quote me something that is not being backed up in writing, and then ignore my efforts at getting this resolved.
Interesting side note. I emailed the company at [email protected] and called BWG one more time asking for a supervisor. That supervisor informed me that my case was brought to the CEO's attention at 3:00 pm today.
Time will tell if BWG actually just dropped the ball in this case (and that this is not indicitive of their normal warranty handling and will rectify the situation) or if this is a systemic problem that starts at the top.
I am hoping the former and not the latter.

DTV Express has gone to bat for me regarding what has transpired with BWG.
It is BWG that has has failed to honor the warranty.
