I don't know if you went to other schools while you went to other schools, but... I have never in my life attended a class where I was taught material that could not be read from a book for under 50$. In fact, there's precious little that can't be learned from the internet for free. The difference is, when you go to fill out your resume (or whatever models have) 'graduated from beauty school' looks a whole lot better than 'read a book about makeup.' I know how you feel, I'm currently wasting thousands a semester learning redundant things in college. I wish there were a cheaper way, but there isn't.

Barbizon was the best investment I ever made. I would recommend the Raleigh institution specifically. In regards to the other review, yes... training cost money. To become a well rounded model/actor one must prepare themselves. Barbizon of Raleigh molded me into a successful actress. The helped me sign my contract with a NYC agency (I'm moving to the city very soon by the way) and they introduced me to some of the nation's leading talent managers and agencies. I've done a local commercial, some castings in NYC and just got cast for two movies to film this month. Like I sad before, it is an investment. Mine was totally worth it. It's all about what you do with what you are given. This place can change your life if you let it. It is a school, so yes there is a a tuition just like any other accredited educational institution. It is money well spent. My time at Barbizon of Raleigh has increased my self confidence and open many doors for me in the industry. I recommend it to all who are interested in becoming a model/actor... or just to build their self confidence. You get what you put in to it. Just because you have a "model look" doesn't mean that you get jobs. You need presence, attitude, confidence, an "it" factor. Anyway, I bet you didn't know that Jill Wagner, former Punk'd star, spokesmodel for Mecury Cars, and host of ABC's Wipeout graduated from Barbizon of Raleigh. As did Kristen Hansen... I'm signed with the same NYC agency as her. Any source of training is a wise investment in this business. A good actor/model knows that the learning never ceases. -Ashley
