Barry Cohen tricked me into having a nose job by saying that my nose was easy, that he has done hundreds of nose jobs, that he has 25 years of experience, that I need to trust him, and that he will give me a cute nose. It was all a lie. He had completely destroyed my nose in one single shot. I went for a primary rhinoplasty, he cut off more than a half on my nose leaving it with multiple deformities and abnormalities. Barry Cohen is a joke and when facial surgeons see what he’s done to me they wonder how he is allowed to practice. When they read his notes from the butchery he performed on me they laugh. Everyone laughs at him but me, because he destroyed my nose and life without taking any responsibility for it. It is unbelievable what he turned a big and strong nose into. Apparently, he is proud of his “creation” that had ruined my life because he repeatedly said that he wouldn’t have done anything differently; that any surgeon would back up his work, and that the nose he punished me with was cute. He is absolutely delusional and his staff knows it. Unfortunately, they couldn’t care less about people. They just sit by his side and watch him ruin lives and probably having some laughs about it after work with friends. They are trained to lie and say that everything looks normal and it looks odd only because of the swelling.

The second he took off the cast I was in complete shock and devastation to what he had done to my nose. There is not one good part left. He also lied about how much he had cut off. He says that he only has taken 3mm off the bridge and 2-3mm from the tip. It is obvious to anyone that he has taken over 5 mm from my bridge and additional 5mm from my tip, although I suspect more. The advice of Cohen and his staff, after I told them that I wanted to kill myself (and I still do because this nightmare will never be over), was to stay away from mirrors. They told me not to look at myself the first few weeks because of the swelling makes it worse than it is. Now, it has been 6 weeks and I still cannot look myself in the mirror. He had completely destroyed my face and live for $6500. This is how much my happiness costs. Oh, and to top that he said that I needed psychiatric help and that there was nothing he could do for me. He needs to be in prison for ruining lives. White collar criminals do less damage than he does. It is such a shame that nobody is doing anything to stop him.

Unless you have been into an accident and you woke up with deformity anywhere on your body you cannot tell how people should feel. Obviously, you do not understand how trauma works. Do some reading before you give advice about something you have never experienced yourself. Thanks.

While I clearly can not speak for the quality of the surgery you received, I can tell you that a close friend of mind had rhinoplasty last year and it took upwards of four months for the swelling to completely go away to see what you're left with. She was upset at first as well, but once all swelling was gone and she came to terms with her new look she is rather happy. I can also tell you that if you feel that you should take your own life because of how your nose looks the doctors/staff were correct in telling you that you need to seek therapy, call a 1-800 line or anything for help. That is not a normal response and you clearly need help and guidance with either coming to terms with your facial features or seeking out a plan of action if your surgery was clearly botched. Telling anyone you want to kill yourself is never okay unless that is truly how you feel and you're ready for help. Some of us have lost loved ones to suicide and you saying that you would do such a thing over your nose is not only offensive but cruel. Get help.
